Bring it on

Our rough and tumble little girl.  She has been sporting this current scratch up the side of her nose.  She leaned over the side of the changing table, I grabbed her shoulder, my hand slipped and my finger nail ran right up the inside of her nose.  She cried for about 20 seconds and was good to go.  She is also sporting about 15 places where her mollescum has been treated, they look like cigarette burns all over her body.  Then finally she is sporting, one scuffed up knee.  When she fell and skinned it, she didn't make a peep, she looked at the concrete, like she didn't understand why it had jumped up and hurt her.  Then when her knee started bleeding, she started playing in the blood.  She is one tough little cookie, I wouldn't want to mess with her.

Where there's a Hadley, there's a way

This little lady has been getting quite a few attitude adjustments lately.  She is 6 going on 16.  Most days she sports more attitude than you could fit in a football stadium (and it's only going to get worse).  One of her punishments was no TV.  However, we didn't take her computer away.  There are several educational sites she loves and it's hard taking educational tools away from her.  But it really didn't come as a surprise to us, when she figured a way around the no TV thing, by finding some of her favorite shows on-line.  Of course this is the same little lady that made it into the Reach Program at her school.  We are pretty proud of her and hope getting her back in school and a routine will be the best attitude adjustment we could order up.

Give the horse some corn

A demonstration if you will.  A demonstration of how a horsey eats corn.  And boy can this horsey ever eat corn.  She goes to town.

This past week has been crazy.  Wayne was out of town at Church Camp.  My Mom and Aunt came up to watch the girls.  Work was extremely busy last week.  Hadley had her final week of swimming lessons and pitched the mother of all fits on my mom.  Despite all her drama, she did learn to swim, YEAH!!!!

I want my mullet back..

I want my mullet back

I want my mullet back

I want my mullet back

Someone got a haircut on Thursday.  She was so sweet.  She just sat in the chair on the booster seat and just looked around wide eyed.  She looks like a big girl with her crop do, growing up so big, so fast.

Random

Our life in bullet points the last few days:
  • Hadley has been taking swimming lessons this week.  She is finally swimming on her own and gaining some confidence in the water.  Hopefully, she will continue to grow next week.
  • Wayne has ruptured his calf muscle.  He had ruptured the calf muscle in his left leg playing dodge ball with the kids, before school let out.  This time, it is his right leg, he was playing tennis.
  • Hadley's new favorite show is WIPEOUT.  She is obsessed with it.  The other night, I was preoccupied with chores and unknowingly let her watch an episode titled "HOTTIES VS. NERDS", not my finest parenting moment.
  • When we asked her what a HOTTIE was, she informed us it was a cute girl.  NICE!!!
  • It makes me even more concerned about what she told Ellison last week.  We had her dressed up in some cute outfit and as Ellison walked out of her room, Hadley tells her, "work it girl!!!"
  • Tonight for dinner Hadley was "feeling Chinese".    I'm pretty sure she will be talking Wayne in to a lunch date tomorrow.
  • The only picture I have taken this week, is of Wayne in his hosiery for his ruptured calf, I'll spare you all that picture.
  • I have Insomnia!!!!

LA Weekend

We went home to Alabama this past weekend, someone had a birthday and even though we didn't get a picture with the birthday boy, there was a party with CAKE.  Chocolate CAKE!!!!  Hadley even got to help ice it, which she was so excited by.

A good time was had by all.  A laughing, giggling good time.

Such a good time, we didn't want anyone to see us having a good time.

Poser...hello diva!!!

After a good meal, the girls got really comfortable.  I mean seriously could they be more relaxed.

A week and A day

We are now a week and a day past the Fourth and I am just now posting pictures of the girls in their Flag shirts.  They had on cute little navy shorts with white stars all over them too, but getting a picture of those would mean standing Ellison up, which means she would take off running, which means there would be no HOPE of a picture.  Not that I got a whole lot of cooperation sticking her in a chair, but at least it isn't blurry.  Our 4th was spent, swimming, grilling out, and watching fireworks with friends.

It's Independence Day

Yesterday after Church this little lady celebrated her Independence.  She hit the pasture and went.  It was really more of a stop, start, stop start thing, but she did it on her own.  Then she got tired and wanted off for a little bit.  But that required walking in the grass.....

...and oh my heavens, things got stuck to the bottom of her feet.  There were several minutes spent maticulously picking the dirt off her feet.  Everything has a place and dirt does not belong on her feet.

Black & Blue

I know with the holiday weekend, we are suppose to be red, white & blue, but Ellison's outfit speaks to me.  Seriously, I tried to talk myself out of it and even left the store without it.  The kid doesn't need anymore clothes, her wardrobe is ridiculous.  But I couldn't talk myself out of it and I returned the next day to get it.  The girls wore these to Church today and one of the first people Ellison ran in to, commented on her red, white and blue outfit.  It was lost on me, until she clarified, her hair!!!!

We were only a couple of pictures in, and I lost her.  She just absolutely refused to cooperate and she took Hadley with her.  Once Ellison got goofy, Hadley followed suit and there was no recovering.

As I post this  Ellison has reached hour number two of chattering and playing in her bed.  She is suppose to be napping, but we went to Bella Roma today for lunch.  It is about 30 minutes away and she fell asleep for about 10 minutes both ways.  It totally messed up her schedule and I think she thinks she has gotten all the rest she needs.  What amazes me is that she is back there entertaining herself and hasn't fussed the first time.  Hadley would have been screaming bloody murder within the first two minutes.  The girls couldn't look and act more different, but at the same time click so well and love each other so much.
