Just a regular Saturday Night with Els

We just recently moved Els to a big girl bed. Her first attempt to stall bedtime last night was to tell us she didn't have her pillows around her bed in case she fell out of bed. About 5 minutes after Wayne Harper placed the pillows around her bed, I heard a loud thud. I go in to check and I see a Red Head in a heap of pillows and BIG dimples. That's when Hadley tells me, "Uh Mom I just watched her throw herself out of bed." Ellison, tried to argue with her and say she fell....but I'm pretty sure the dimples gave her away. Oh me.....

I'm ready for my close up

I got a certain little Red Head's school pictures back.  Can you spot the Red Head in this class picture???

 

 

Umm she made sure to get the sandals in the picture.  It was 40 degress outside that morning, but she insisted on wearing the sandals, because they looked cute.  I have to say, she does look pretty cute.

Oh ME......

So if you came here for pictures of the girls, you might want to come back tomorrow.  I'm blogging this because I don't want to forget the six days that I wasn't allowed to talk....or the surgery that blew up my face.  I had a gum graft and it didn't go as expected.  I had a little more swelling than normal, which turned out to be an infection.  It has not been a pleasant experience.  Needless to say I may forgo the other three surgeries I need and just opt to let them fall out and get partials. 

 

The surgery was on Monday.  The below are Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday after the surgery.

 

A Putter we might have

The other day when we went on our hiking adventure.  We also stopped at the PGA Superstore.  I had these on my phone.  The one of Hadley cracks me up.  Girl takes her putting seriously.  She is kind of good at it too.  Wayne reminded me that, putting was only part of the game, I reminded him it was a pretty important part and perhaps he might want to work with her on the other.  She doesn't show an interest in athletics very often, so we might want to work towards her skill set.

Not so much interested this one, she just wanted to be in the middle of whatever Hadley was doing so she could aggravate her.  I would be shocked if this one turns out to be a golfer.  There isn't enough constant movement in it.  She is to busy going, to be thinking and analyzing.

Fortune Cookies Speak the Truth

So my girls love Chinese Food, it's no secret.  Wayne usually takes them for Daddy Daughter Time, because Mama ain't a fan.  So the other day they came home from eating Chinese Food, I think they may have been to visit Granny Sue and Ellison was dying to open her fortune cookie.  Chick loves her junk food.  Hadley may be the one in braces, but she is the one that is going to cost me a fortune in cavities.  Oh me, so I open it up for her and break it and this is her fortune.  If ever there was a fortune that was dead on this was it.  This is absolutely my favorite thing about her.

Spring Sunday

My grown up girls in their grown up room.  Today they were in their first spring'ish outfits, so we snapped a few pictures.

 

 

She told me, "Mom seriously you aren't going to see any teeth."  Bless her it is one jacked up mess, she is still gorgeous to me though.

This little stinker loves her some clothes.  She was so completely over the moon to put on her new outfit.

A hiking we will go

We have finally gotten a rare glimpse of decent weather, it was the end of spring break, so we decided to break out of our rut and get outside.  We took the girls back to the park where we had family pictures.  We had a picnic, went on a pedal boat ride and then went on a hike.  We played around the camera and tried to get some shots of the girlies.

 

 

 

A family of ducks came up to the boat right at the end.  I think it was highlight of the day.  How cute are these babies?

 

 

I may or may not have spent the better part of the hike like this.  The Gnats were horrible!!!!!!!!!

NEW DIGS

So I showed you the before and here is the new "BIG GIRL" room.  She has transitioned fairly well, we still have our normal stall tactics, those haven't gone away completely, but she is doing pretty good.  I love to hear the pitter patter of little feet coming down the hallway in the morning.  That new found freedom, so sweet, so innocent.

 

 

Easter Sunday

She looks the part of an angel, even if she is the DEVIL.  I forgot to take a picture of her bloomers, they have purple ruffles across the bum, super cute.  These shoes didn't make it past wear one with the Red Head.  The toes are completely scuffed off, not sure what she caught them on, but they are goners.

My big girl doesn't want to smile showing her teeth right now, she has another hanger.  She looks pitiful, it is hanging by next to nothing.  I'm pretty sure I'm going to be pinning her down to get it out tonight.

Yep, not gonna do it Mom.

We love our Holt girls.

Doesn't Wayne look thrilled.  To me his face says, take the picture now, end this torture.

It's time to hunt Easter Eggs.  Let's do this thing.

Baskets of Sunshine

It is Easter basket time.....the Easter bunny amazingly arranged for remarkable similiar baskets.  There was one thing that was different and that was the one thing Ellison picked up on and wanted.  I had to divert her to the shoes in hers, which Hadley didn't get.  The Easter bunny was really practical this year too, the girls baskets each contained two swimsuits and minimal candy.  M.I.N.I.M.A.L C.A.N.D.Y, say it with me.  Candy manufactures are like a mafia or something.  Every holiday, CANDY TIME....let's sugar them up.  Hadley's candy can disappear and she won't even notice, Red the sugar tooth Monkey asks every 5 seconds for a piece of candy.
