Break from reality

BWe had a friend invite us down to Barnsley Gardens Sunday afternoon and I'm not gonna lie the girls kinda loved the club life.  Hanging out by the pool, ordering fancy drinks from the Tiki Bar by the pool, then getting on the golf cart and being toured around the grounds...multiple times.  On the second tour, it poured rain and we had to stop at the barn for shelter, then once it stopped Raymond stopped at the Fairy Godmother's house and the girls got a special treat...they were pretty excited about the little fairies she gave them.

 

 

The life of a 10 year old

Hadley ended up spending the night with Gracie and so later that evening I get this picture for Renee.  Rotten girls sure lead a rough life.  Swimming all day, then pedicures, shopping and dinner by night.  Oh to be 10 again.....

 

AUBURN till the END

Team spirit day fell on the Friday before opening weekend, so we put on our gear again on Saturday, it was totally washed first ;)...and headed out to watch some football at a friends house.  The girls were totally going for the swimming part, as it was the Georgia game they were watching, but they sure did have fun.  Minus the incident...the incident would be, they only had Georgia plates and cups and napkins and anything else you can think of Georgia, well Els went on a hunger strike because she wasn't eating off a Georgia plate or drinking out of a Georgia cup.  There were tears and foot stomping, she refused to  betray her beloved Auburn Tigers.  I litterally had to turn the plate upside down and fold the sides up, so it looked like a white plate.  I can't imagine her obsession, growing we may not be able to live with her.

 

 

Of course we wore or orange bikini, we didn't want there to be any confusion of what team we were pulling for.

Team Spirit Day at School....can you guess which team we were sporting...that's right our AUBURN TIGERS.  The hat Els is wearing is about 3 sizes too big for her head, but she didn't care.  Look at that hip stuck out, she is such a little poser.

These two are a hot mess and they just don't look like they go together.  Hadley is two months older, but almost two heads shorter in this picture.  They are both so grown up in their heels, but clearly Hadley's didn't help her still look like such a shorty next to her BFF.

Tennis Wings

It's a weekend...so what's that mean...TENNIS!!!!!!  Hads had a tennis tournament in Rome, the weather was suppose to be beautiful that day, so we all loaded up and went.

 

When you are texting and photo bombing you miss out on sweet sweet sugar.

EXTRA KID: FREE to GOOD HOME

When the other parent is taking too long putting the children to bed because they are playing Clash of Clans and  you text him, "WRAP IT UP....IT'S BEDTIME" and this is  the reply you get back.  Seriously, feels like I am a single parent of 3 sometimes.

 

We might have a problem

The blind bag addiction is real.....we might have a problem...these are just Hadley's.  Ellison couldn't find all of hers when Hadley was making her army.

 

You got to work it GIRL

Like I told her a few weeks before when she was stressing out because she couldn't do a back walk over, "if you practice and work hard, you can."  She wants to be able to do everything immediately, she isn't interested in learning, she wants to know.  We shall see if that serves her well in life or is a struggle for all of us to work through.

So Dad's away again and the girls get to play....I took the girls to get their hair trimmed and of course their favorite Ms. Ally, straightened it for them.  Hads looks so old with straight hair.

 

 

This one is like cutting a moving target, she wiggles, talks and just generally fidgets the whole time, Ms. Ally is so patient with her though.

So before the girls were born, I was totally not afraid to stay by myself, it didn't phase me at all.  After the girls were born, I was a little more cautious, but still pretty independent.  Then our house was broken into and that all kind of changed.  I hear noises and think people are coming in constantly.  So when Wayne is hours away out of town and I put the cat out on the screened in porch and begin hearing blood curdling howling, go out to check and find the cat has literally busted out of the screen, I'm a little nervous.  He has never done that before and then when he won't let me touch him, I know something has set him off big time, then I start seeing a light blub flash in the distance, I'm more than a little freaked.  I had to go back in the house to get a blanket to throw over the stupid cat, so I could get  him back inside.  I locked everything down and every light in the house went on...that baby was lit up like a Christmas tree.  I'm not sure that I slept at all that night.

 

Someone is a little obsessed with her game of Clash of Clans, so it wasn't that shocking when I walked in the kitchen and found her all snuggled up on the counter with her blanket because her iPad was charging.

 

Due to the events of the night before, Sunday was spent like this.  I'm not sure what was wrong with this one, she never naps and she isn't a big snuggler, but at one point, she came in and cat napped on me.

 

I got many visits from this dolled up diva...all I can say is WOW!!!

You know what they say, move your feet, lose your seat.  Imagine my surprise when I left my morning snuggles for just a minute and came back to this.  The cat is not allowed on this bed, clearly she isn't enforcing the rules.  Of course, all the animals love her, she is like the animal whisperer.

Wayne's out of town....GIRLS WEEKEND!!!!  So Wayne left a couple weeks ago on a Friday afternoon for a tennis tournament.  Hads and Els got to go home with a friend..when I went to pick them up, the conned us in to taking them out for dinner...and not just any dinner...LONGHORN....hello expensive appetite much???  So after dinner they amused the arriving dinner guest with their shenanigans on a rock...seriously, these girls aren't bashful at all.

 

 

So Saturday I had to go to Dalton to get my hair done and I told the girls that if they were good during the appointment I would take them for a surprise.  They were fantastic...Bribery parenting for the WIN!!!!  I took them to the mall for a quick fun little activity...jumping...they love it!!!

 

 

After jumping, we walked around the mall for a few minutes...we might have played a joke on Wayne, I texted this picture to Wayne and made him believe I had gotten Hadley a phone.  He believed us and wasn't very happy about it...nor the fact that I let the gag go on until he got home the following day.

 

 

The reset of Saturday was spent like this...snuggled up in bed with my red head is a pretty cozy place to be.

 

She finally got out of bed and appeared at my door a short time later like this.  Seriously, if you don't have one of these in your life, you are missing out on some serious joy!!!!!!

 

Then before bed Hadley wanted me to try a hairstyle on Ellison.  Ellison will only let me play with her hair.  Honestly, I wasn't a fan of the picture, I was just humoring Hadley, so imagine her disappointment when my recreation was a big all fat FLOP!!!!

This one right here is a hot mess...she sings constantly and she has started singing these crazy foreign opera type songs...in reality it is gibberish...but she truly sounds like she is singing a Russian Opera.  She has had me on the floor multiple times with her performances.  I can't wait to see her name in lights one day.

Days after school starts, Wayne tells me that in 5th grade the kids can bring electronics to use as a resource to get on something called Study Island, that will quiz them on their knowledge about subjects.  He had told Hadley she could take the tablet...but it wasn't really the tablet she was after.  He said, you could see her disappointment instantly, when he offered the tablet...she saw this as her in to get a phone.  The next day I was handed a typed version of the below, I wish I had taken pictures of it....in her reasons she said that if she was staying with someone and "if" she missed me she would have a phone to call me, ummm way to persuade me there Hads.  Knowing how independent you are, I won't wait for the phone to ring.  I made some "suggestions" to her typed version and this was the result...she may not have to wait until the end of 5th grade as previously planned, but we aren't running out for that purchase yet.

 

I  made her take the below to her writing teacher and she came home and let me know, "my teacher said if she was my parent, she would buy me a phone, she thought it was that persuasive."  

 

Ummm...she can totally have you...totally not...well.....

Um seriously she knows how to lay it on thick...this was one of her first pieces of school work to come home from Kindergarten...it's still on the fridge.

UP and at EM'

Back to SCHOOL!!!!Hip hip hooray for a routine!!!  Mama was ready for her crew to be back in the swing of things.  I like each morning the same and during the summer they were running a crazy schedule of camps and the like and each week I would have to adjust what time I got up, so I could get them ready and or shuttle Hads somewhere...so I was a little more excited than usual for the school year to kick back into gear.  This however was the first year Hads was less than thrilled...not sure why, but she just wasn't excited.  Els on the other hand was ready to see her peeps girlfriend loves to socialize.  We will see how well she likes it after a few weeks of actual work.
