The Homework has begun

Ellison's had her first homework assignment...I mean I had my first homework assignment for Ellison.  It was all about her.  We got to show pictures of all her animals, her favorite TV show, her favorite book, her favorite food, her favorite thing to play with, her favorite color and her sister.  I don't know if you can tell, but she is a little proud in this picture!!!!

We have been having a little bit of trouble with nap time, so I was so happy to get this note in a certain little Red Head's cubby.

Our Little Ballerina

She has been talking about this, since this time last year.  Although, the morning of the class she started asking a lot of nervous questions.  I was concerned it might not go well, but.......she absolutely loves it.  She is the sweetest little student.  The little bits I have been able to peak through the half closed blinds, she is following directions, listening intently and grinning from ear to ear.

Bad Mommy

A doll's life is rough, especially when your Mama puts you in time out for hours...for an unnamed offense.

Air for You

Our air went out the other night....Someone had a little trouble getting comfortable.  A friend brought us a couple window units, so her discomfort was only temporary, shortly after taking this she woke up and was awake until we go the window units going.  She takes after her Daddy, her hair was soaking wet, gross!!!!  Her sister, despite the lack of air was wrapped up in an afghan...she takes after her Mama.

I wanna be a COWGIRL Baby

We went with a group of friends to a local rodeo that is literally right down the road from our house. It is wildly popular in our area and greatly advertised, however we have never been. It was a trip to see the girls take it all in. Ellison, to be the rough and tumble, willing to get dirty one, has quite the aversion to smells. She wasn't a fan of the smell....of the Rodeo. I think her future as a cowgirl may be in serious danger.

So long Ivy

Wayne has pulled all the English Ivy off the front of our house. It had taken over in a big kind of gross way and he has been wanting to have a crack at it for years. I wasn't really a fan of a half completed project, so I have been hesitant. It is all gone, but it had destroyed the screened in porch, so we had to re screen and re trim. Which meant a PAINTING PROJECT!!!! Woooo WHO!!! I love a good painting project. Since we have been having a little bit of rain as of late, my painting project ended up in the barn, late on a Friday night after the girls went to bed. The horses weren't thrilled. They were ready for bed.

I have opinions

This little lady is now officially a third grader.  She picked this outfit out herself, requested her own hairstyle and insisted on these shoes.  I am certain this year is going to be a little different.  Gone are the days are me grabbing a "comfortable" outfit and laying it out for her.  I give her a two reject limit.  If she rejects my first two options and hasn't offered something I'm agreeable to....I pick.  We will see how it goes.  Lord please help us.

Farm babies

Okay we are back on track..  Birthday party at a petting zoo.  The girls cracked me up.  Hads liked it but she didn't really want to get dirty.  Ellison on the other hand walking through piles of poop not even fazed.  She is outdoorsy all the way.

Ellison loves this little guy.  She is mother hen.  Such a happy little man.

Sassy Legs

One more out of order.  The official back to school picture.... the duck face and peace sign picture...the I'm so goofy picture...and then did you really take that picture.  Look at that sassy leg all bent, hands on her hip...love this girls sassy attitude.  She keeps me in stitches!!!

BYE BYE BYE BYE!!!

These are so out of order.  I had been doing better....kicking myself.  So before you move on to the big girl room, you have to have a party to bid farewell to the "baby" room.  What better way to bid farewell to the baby room, than with cupcakes!!!!  Her hair looks so pitiful in these pictures, the week before their water day had been bumped, so in an effort to send them off right...they had a water day and a party.  Can it get any better than that?

Preschool is Exhausting

So Monday I picked Ellison up and she told me how high she went on the BIG swings, then she passed out.  Tuesday, she immediately fe1l alseep.  Wednesday she told me she wanted Chick Fil A, then conked out.  A definte unusual theme.  I am usually hit with 500 questions about my day, endless driving instructions, and several tall tales about all her peeps at school.  So imagine my surprise when I enjoyed three quiet rides home this week.  Well Thursday morning the truth came out...she hasn't been napping.  She has been hanging out on her cot, whispering to her teacher and reading a book.  Her very sweet teacher wanted to let me know she wasn't being disruptive, but wanted to let me know hoping it wasn't messing up her evening schedule.  She asked if there was anything she could do to get her to sleep, my advise....get her still for two minutes and she will be out light....but otherwise good luck with that!!!!

No Words...

So the other night Chris & Brooke invited us over to grill out and swim.  The girls usually end up fighting over McLain's attention, who is 9.  But this time something strange happened, Ellison was all over McLain and these two like rally hit off.  Usually they just talk and kind of acknowledge each other, but I know now I am in trouble, when I found her and Owen like this....

CRAZY TOWN

So I knew when I picked her up and she started backing behind the bookshelf and bawling that there was going to be a problem.  They said she didn't take a nap and that always means she is going to be more stubborn than usual.  I mean on a good day, parenting her means you have to figure out how to make her think what you want her to do, is her idea.  If you can do that you are golden, however when she is overtired you aren't afforded that amount of time.  She goes straight to crazy town.  So it was crazy town we went.  I litterally had to pick her up and carry her out sideways under my arm kicking and screaming.  My other arm was full of her stuff, so I ended up semi dropping her on the floor in front of the school.  OF COURSE, parents were coming in.  Parents, like multiple sets of parents.  They were all doing that look away thing, you know, the can you believe what a horrid child look away???  Several almost broke into a sprint so they could distance themselves from crazy town, so it doesn't wear off on their perfectly angelic children.  When I got to the car, I had to drop her in the floor board, go around and get the AC going (it was sweltering) as I knew I was in for a wrestling match to get her in her car set.  I got in next to her and physcially had to pin her down in the seat while I buckled her one handed.  It was brutal.  The same parents that were going in, when I came out, started coming out while I was still buckling her and they began to sprint and look away, because of course we were sitting right outside the front doors.

Of course as she was falling asleep, she was plotting her escape.  She got half way unbuckled and passed out.
