Storytime

Ellison Ann is finally starting to show an interest in being read to and books.  I use the word interest loosely.  She pays attention about 1/3 of the time.  I  love that her favorite person to read to her is her big sister.  Hadley loves books and loves reading, so this is one area they can connect on and bond.

Cute X2

I hadn't planned on taking their pictures the morning they wore these dresses for the third time, but.....I was instructed to.  Since the Red Head is training me up to take the path of least resistance and truly choose my battles, I made time to snap their pictures.  I really couldn't resist taking their pictures when she told me I needed to because "we are cute".  So she has the confident thing going for her and we have established she is quite charming.  The world is pretty much hers to conquer

Words

Peace out said the little Ducky.  This one...Oh my.  Her favorite words/sayings are....
  • Seriously?
  • You're freaking me out...
  • Earth to Mommy/Daddy/Hadley
Her BryNana taught her this pose. She mastered it pretty quickly and has been sporting it quite often. The other night I was giving her and Hadley a bath. I had my attention on Hadley as I was washing her hair, I catch Els out of the corner of my eye. She has her hip jutted out, hand on the other hip, fingers up in the peace sign and practicing various duck faces. I realize she is watching her reflection in the mirror. Yep she is our entertainment....most nights.

The other day when I picked her up from school, she had on different clothes.  Different clothes that weren't hers.  This is the third time this has happened and she has a change of clothes.  I questioned the teacher to find out what happened and seems she had an accident at nap time.  No big deal, I asked why she wasn't wearing her own clothes and she didn't know.  The other teacher checked to make sure they had Els change of clothes and labeled correctly and they did.  In the meantime, her teacher got the low down on what happened.  Seems there was another teacher watching the class during nap time....one that wasn't familiar with the kids names....when the teacher took Els to change, Els told her she was Sophia (Els BFFF who has a flair for fashion and has fun sparkly clothes as her change of clothes) the teacher not knowing she wasn't Sophia, put the fun polka dot, silver trimmed outfit on The Red Head.  The story wouldn't be so funny, but The Red Head knew exactly what she had done, when questioned I got the biggest dimpled smile.  Her Daddy's tell as well when he is pulling a fast one.  Love this girl and her brand of mischief!!!

I did it for the Chocolate!!!!

I ran another 5K!!!  Still can't say I love it, but I can say the reward at the end of this one has been the best yet!!!!  C.H.O.C.O.L.A.T.E.  The race was Sunday in the AM, 7:45 in the big ATL.  A little early for my taste but I went down the night before with a fun group of ladies to pick up our packets, eat at Cheesecake Factory and stay the night.  It was a nice little get away.  For the months leading up the race, I was terrified about running in the cold....I don't like it, that is a fact, no two ways about it.  Santa purchased me some Under Armour Cold Gear, but it was 50 degrees and the cold gear was a bit of overkill.  I opted to forgo the shirt and only wore the pants.  Here is my review....  While Under Armour Cold Gear does not keep the cold out, it keeps the heat in.  By mile two I felt like my pants were on FIRE.  When I say on FIRE I mean, I could feel it all the way in my face, panic attack fire.  WOW.  Worth their money!!!!

New Year Shark Attack

The older you get, the more tame your New Years Eve's should be.....right?  We had a nice quiet evening at a friends house, playing games and the kids running crazy.  Although, there are no words for this picture........

all I will say is the pictures proves it did happen.....YES IT DID!!!!

I can only imagine the comments when we look back at this picture 20 years from now......

Are there Monsters under your Bed?

I took the day after Christmas off.  I thought we would chill at home and relax with the family.  Good thing girl plans came up, because Wayne had made plans to hunt.  The scary thing was that meant, Els would be going to her first movie.  If you know Els, then you know she doesn't really sit still and she doesn't really shut up.  So to say I was a little nervous about taking her would be an understatement.  She did wonderfully though, she sat in a booster in her chair for about 30 minutes, then moved to my lap for the snuggle (it was nap time).  She sat very still and quiet until the last 10 minutes of the movie.  At that point, she let me know she didn't like it.  We went to see Monsters Inc 3D.  There was a little too much action, wrestling and well Monsters for her.  She does not do scary, but isn't she cute in her 3D glasses with the big girls?

Birds of a feather

I have these uploaded for a while, I got sidetracked.  We traveled home from Alabama Christmas Eve, so Santa could visit the girls at home Christmas morning.  To say that we did an excellent job of not building up the jolly ol' man would be an understatement.  While giving Ellison a bath on Christmas Eve she told me she wanted to go see Captain Hook the next day.  Totally random not sure where that came from, but when I told her Santa was coming the next day and we couldn't go see The Captain, she protested.  I asked her, "Baby would you rather go see Captain Hook or Santa bring you presents?"  Her answer will surprise you.....yep she choose The Captain.  To say we didn't have trouble getting the girls to bed would be very true.  Easy peasy lemon squeezy and they even slept till their normal time.  My girls are odd little birds, but God I love them.

Bless her heart, Els still did not feel well, she was kind of pitiful.  She did her best to enjoy once she started opening presents, but you could tell her whole heart wasn't in it.

It's Christmas in Dixie

The Saturday before Christmas we headed South.  We spent two nights at my parents house and then headed back to Georgia Christmas Eve.  The girls got spoiled, and got to run around like crazy little banshee's, BellBell made some delicious food and Ellison kept PawPaw on his toes the entire time.  Those were the high points.  The low point was red began to get sick while we were there, which made for a couple of pretty restless nights of sleep while we were there.  Thankfully, they called her in meds to the local pharmacy, but it would be a few days before it would take effect.
