Admitting a two year old is RIGHT
We have an 8X10 picture frame on the kitchen table, with a piece of cloth in the picture part. We have a dry erase marker sitting next to the frame and we have started using it to write notes to each other. I decided I would use it to write Ellison's bible verse for this month at school, which is: I will be joyful. Habakkuk 3:18. At the dinner table the other night, Wayne pointed to the frame and asked Ellison what it said. She recited her verse, loudly. It truly is the perfect verse for her, because if she is anything, it is JOYFUL!!! Wayne then attempted to prompt her, "where is it from"? He was looking for the reference Habakkuk 3:18.....her reply, "The Pen"! I wish I had my camera to capture her expression, I think she thought it was one of the dumbest questions, she had ever been asked. We had to laugh because technically, she was correct!

PEACE....I'm in Second Grade
Father time and I have not come to an adequate agreement on slowing down time. I can not believe that First Grade has flown by and we are now a Second Grader. She was so ready for school to start back, she missed her friends, her studies and was so ready to be in Ms. Balliew's class. I love you sweet girl!!!!!

SMORE Kinky curls please
One Saturday we had been doing yard work all day. Which isn't really easy with the kiddos underfoot. I was pretty sure they hadn't had a very enjoyable day and our yard work wasn't complete. We still had a pile of trash that needed to be burned, which sounded like the perfect opportunity for some smores. We also had a picnic outside and some play. It was really HOT! It is crazy what the heat, sweat and humidity do to the girls hair. Can we say kinky?

All UP from here
Moving on up, to the top. Moving on UP. She isn't in the baby room anymore folks. She has moved up to the 2-3 year old room at school. She marched in like she owned the place. It was awesome. She started on Monday and was then out for the whole week due to her surgery. I was a little concerned that going back might be hard for her, but she rocked it out. She has such an independent little personality.

Striking a pose
Hands on your hip, check!!!! This is the girls a few Sunday's ago before Church. They were suppose to wear their matching outfits like Hadley's. Ellison had hers on and it fit, but because of the slick material and the wider neck, as soon as she started playing it started sliding off her shoulders. Knowing we can't keep her still, we are going to have to let her grow into hers a little more. Aunt Momo, they are adorable. Thank you!!!!!

This is what tough looks like
This little lady has continued to have sinus problems this past year. Over the course of the last year, she literally been on antibiotics more than she was off. I'm pretty sure, the longest she was off was two weeks. Off, on, off, on, off on, repeat and rinse. It was not healthy. She had been to the allergist and she wasn't allergic to the standard panel. She doesn't drink milk, she drinks lactaid. She takes two allergy medicines a day. The doctor was at a loss and said our only next step was to remove her adenoids. This mama was pretty nervous.
I shouldn't have had any doubts about this tough little lady. She never made the first whimper. No fussing, no whining, she never cried. She is one tough little chick.
In fact, three hours after her surgery she had downed 3/4's of a milkshake. We had to stop her because she was drinking it so fast!!!!!

Really Bleeding...!!!!
I was getting ready the other day and there is a knock the door. "Mommy I got a BooBoo"! She does this often, so I tell her she isn't bleeding and continue on getting ready. This is my standard response. I was almost done, so I open my door less than a minute later and this is what I find. Yes, she was bleeding and it was a pretty deep cut. There wasn't the first tear shed, she is one tough chick. She let me wash it, clean it, bandage it; the whole kit and kaboodle without a peep. I was amazed the whole time. She was not crazy about the band aid and wanted it off constantly. She thought the band aid was going to magically heal the BooBoo.

Crazy Parents
Park pictures!!! On a recent Sunday night one of the parents had a brilliant idea to go to the Park. This parent mentioned it in front of the children and they were thrilled. We ended up at the Park and it was HOT! Like the most beet sweaty ready you can possibly be!!! The Red Head is absolutely pitiful when she gets HOT. Red and nasty sweat!!! After the Park, we took the girls for frozen yogurt. Ellison was thrilled, Hadley's enthusiasm was a little forced and then we found out why.....
Ummm yeah, she had a tummy ache. You know your child doesn't feel well when this is how they wait for you to finish in an ice cream shop!

I'll take a Holt or Four
The Harper girls, love them some Holt girls. They go wild for these young ladies and their Mama. When I say wild, I mean they prefer them over their family. I think they consider them their real family. I couldn't think of three more beautiful, inside and out young ladies for these girls to look up to.

Pigs aren't gonna fly around here
Nothing like walking through a room and catching this out of the corner of your eye. Even pigs have to be safe now. Other Ellisonism's heard recently:
Ellison: I got to need IT!!!!!
********
Me: Quit screaming!!!
Ellison: I not screaming, I crying (loudest cringe worthy scream EVER)!!!
********
Me: Els you are not getting anything out of this fridge.
Push, push, push.
Me: Ellison Ann you are not getting anything to eat right now!
Ellison: You are killing me woman!
Me: (Head hung) you are seriously killing me right now!!!!
********
She also frequently works the word seriously into any conversation, when she doesn't like what you are saying. We laugh, we shouldn't but we can't help it.

We found her weak spot
So when we stopped in Alabama coming back from the Beach, we had left all the cats with my parents to cat sit. One of the bats, BOO, had been getting sick so my Mom took him to see Dr. Logan. Mr. Boo had been very sick for some time and we didn't know, he had to have a kidney removed. He wasn't able to come back with us and Ms. Hadley didn't take it well. We left her in Alabama for a week, so she could go see Boo each day and that meant this little lady has gotten some serious one on one time this summer. Her final night as an "only" child we took her for frozen yogurt, which she loves, this child could eat her weight in ice cream products.

I'm a BIG girl NOW!!!!
Since this girl did so well while we were at Disney with her potty training, we transitioned full time to big girl panties. Let me tell you these big girl panties, but an extra little swagger in her step. She thinks she is hot stuff, truth is we kind of think she is. She has had a couple of accidents, but they were kind of our fault too, she told us she had to go and we just didn't get her there in time. The crazy thing is, she is waking up completely dry from naps and sleeping through the night without wetting. She may have been behind Hadley when she transitioned to big girl panties, but she is staying dry all the time much quicker. It really is TRUE, each baby is their own unique little person and you can't rush them, it's THEIR timetable.

Check for TWO!
On the way home from the Beach, we stopped back in Alabama. My parents agreed to babysit (I may have begged really hard) so that Wayne and I could go on a very rare dinner and movie date. We made it a double date with Matt and Nikki, who we haven't had an adult meal with in well like forever. It was a great evening. We saw the movie, People Like Us, which I really liked because it wasn't like every other movie you have seen. Ahhh, adult conversation, yes I'll take some of that please.

Just BEACHY!!!!
We ended our vacation at the BEACH! I must say this was my absolute favorite part of the trip. However, it was the most crowded I have ever seen it. The 4th of July, plus being on a resort meant we could literally reach out and touch someone at any given moment. The girls didn't seem to mind, the absolutely loved the beach this year. Wayne took them out about chest deep in the ocean and played with them, which made them both giddy and entertained them for hours. We would spend every morning at the beach, go back for late long naps, then get up and go to dinner. The night of the 4th we got to see an amazing fireworks show on the resort too. It was a great vacation with many wonderful memories!!!
