Water Fun

We had Water Night Sunday at Church.  These pictures have been on my camera for several days and I wanted to download them, but we just got a new computer.  A new computer that is SUPER fast and part of me is terrified that putting anything on it, is going to slow it down to the dinosaur we had before.

The girls had a blast.  Hadley ran around like a crazy woman and Ellison couldn't get wet enough.  Before we left, I went down the slide with Ellison.  Climbing the stairs of the bouncy house the first time with a 30 pound weight, wasn't bad.  I bounded up the stairs like I was caring a feather.  She wasn't scared at all, she loved it and wanted to go again.  The second time going up the stairs it was like I was caring a 50 pound bag of horse food, it was tough.  Again, she loved it.  I think, had I let her she would have gone up on her own and hurled herself down without a second thought.  She is one daring little chick.

Cowgirl Slumber

She was suppose to be ready for bed.  We were getting her sippy and medicine ready and she disappeared.  There was a couple of minutes of silence and we knew she was up to something, we just didn't know what.  Then we hear it, CLOMP, CLOMP, CLOMP.  Around the corner peaks this dimpled darling, ready for bed with a twist.  Her sisters pink cowgirl boots on the wrong feet, were just the thing to take this budding fashionista to the land of Z.

We are going to Dance, Dance, Dance

Last night there was a School Dance, it was really more of a run.  The kids just ran around a lot to the music in the heat.  It seemed like they were unaware of the heat.  Hadley and her friend Taylor.

Ellison networking.  One of her best buds at the school the Vice Principal, Mrs. McLemore.  She is making sure she has an ally so when she gets to the Bud, her daddy won't be paddling her when she gets in trouble, like he does her sister.

The school dance isn't complete until the mascot takes his spin on the floor.

Once Curls discovered the stage, it was like she discovered her home.  She got up there and shook her groove thing, like nobodies business.

My first assignment

Ellison had her first project at her new school due today, which translates to mean I had homework.  Below is a picture and what she thinks she is all about.

All about ME

Ellison Ann Harper
aka Els,
aka The Red Head,
aka Elsie Bop
aka Flossy

I'm a little bit of a mischief make, constantly on the go. Forget trying to read me a book. I couldn't tell you the first character from Kids TV. Who has time to sit still for books and TV, when there are bathrooms to toilet paper and walls to color on?

I'm pretty sure I haven't ever met a stranger. I am a one woman greeting crew; everyone is going to get a wave, a HI and a BYE, BYE. I love people and I think they should love me too!!!!

I am obsessed with my baby dolls and playing ball. I love dogs and get so excited when I see a motorcycle driving down the road.

I’m a Daddy’s girl, even though Mommy tries to convince me otherwise. I am my sister’s shadow; I think she is pretty cool, drama and all.

I keep my family on their toes, but they couldn't imagine walking through life flat footed again.

That’s pretty much all about ME!!!

Reunion time

Yesterday we went to a family reunion.  It was in Alabama and it was HOT!!!!  Ellison was her typical moody self in the car, she is just not a good travel buddy, in addition to that, she has had a sinus infection.  She was a little bit of a pill anytime we were in the car yesterday.  Once we got there though, the girls had a great time.  They got to hang out with their 3rd cousins Carrie and Lizzie and they had a great time.

We have a First Grader

Today was Hadley's first day of First Grade. She was beyond excited to get back to a routine. I took her to school this morning, so I could take the required first day of school pictures. As we were pulling in to+- the school, I asked her if she wanted me to walk her in or just drop her off. She quickly replied I could just drop her off. As soon as I asked the question, I wondered why I had even asked, because I was going to do what I wanted to do, which was walk her in. I guess I wanted to hear her say she wanted me, but my big girl is growing up so quickly.

I'm a BIG kid now

Els started back to school Monday.  She started at a new school, which is down the road from her old school.  When we got to the stop light, she was looking to the right, like we use to turn and we turned left.  She was a little confused.  I think that she remembers her old school and old teachers and thought that was were she was going today.  She walked right in though, even greeted a man that was signing in at the gym.  She began exploring her room immediately and was completely content.  When I asked her for a hug because Mommy was leaving, she told me no.  I know she meant no she wasn't giving me a hug, not no I wasn't leaving.  She is so independent.

This picture makes me smile.  This is one of those toys, that has shapes that you push through the holes.  She didn't understand why the shapes weren't rattling around inside when she shook it, so she put her eye up to one of the holes to get a closer look.

When I picked her up today, she was happy to see me, but when I asked her if she was ready to go, again she told me No.  I mean seriously I had to chase after her in the room, she didn't want to leave.  The afternoon teachers said they were worried when the kids woke up from their naps, they would be scared because they weren't the same teachers that were there when they went to sleep.  Guess what, my girl popped up, waved at one of the ladies, and ran over and gave her a hug.  The teacher was a complete stranger at that point, but Els doesn't care, she is going to charm you.

Tired before starting

We went to Wayne's room Saturday to work on it.  Within 10 minutes of being there this one had created this mess and then didn't even play with it once she dumped it out.  Before we left both her hands were completely covered with orange marker and she had colored one of her cheeks with yellow highlighter.  She is exhausting.

Puke, Wedgies, Bullies & Water

Friday I took of work and we spend a family day at the Creative Discovery Museum.  The best $10.95 a person you can spend.  The girls had a blast exploring, although the trip didn't get off to a great start.  Miss Ellison is our resident gagger.  She comes by it honestly as her mama is the same way.  It isn't unusual for her to get choked up, gag and then spew.  We were just getting in to Chattanooga, we heard the cough, the gag, and there she blew.  I unbuckled my seat belt, flipped myself around and promptly threw my ring hand under her mouth, to catch what I could.  Let's just say not much and have you ever smelled your wedding ring after it has been puked on, not GOOD!!!!  I was able to limit myself to gagging, but it was horrible...  Once we final found a place to stop and get Ellison cleaned up, we changed her in to this little 12 month outfit, despite the wedgie it gave her all day long, we had a great day.

I want to remember this picture, because the little boy to Ellison's right, well he tried to take one of the cups she had in the previous picture, let's just say it didn't work out too well for him.  He grabbed hold if it, she jerked it away from him, then tucked it to her belly and curled over so he couldn't get it from her.  Yeah it didn't matter that he was more than a head taller than her, she wasn't taking his bullying.

After we went to the CDM, we let the girls play in the water by the Aquarium.  Ellison fell, 3 or 4 times and was completely soaked when we went to eat lunch.  She didn't care though, she enjoyed her Mellow Mushroom with the rest of us.
