I'm a BIG kid now

Els started back to school Monday.  She started at a new school, which is down the road from her old school.  When we got to the stop light, she was looking to the right, like we use to turn and we turned left.  She was a little confused.  I think that she remembers her old school and old teachers and thought that was were she was going today.  She walked right in though, even greeted a man that was signing in at the gym.  She began exploring her room immediately and was completely content.  When I asked her for a hug because Mommy was leaving, she told me no.  I know she meant no she wasn't giving me a hug, not no I wasn't leaving.  She is so independent.

This picture makes me smile.  This is one of those toys, that has shapes that you push through the holes.  She didn't understand why the shapes weren't rattling around inside when she shook it, so she put her eye up to one of the holes to get a closer look.

When I picked her up today, she was happy to see me, but when I asked her if she was ready to go, again she told me No.  I mean seriously I had to chase after her in the room, she didn't want to leave.  The afternoon teachers said they were worried when the kids woke up from their naps, they would be scared because they weren't the same teachers that were there when they went to sleep.  Guess what, my girl popped up, waved at one of the ladies, and ran over and gave her a hug.  The teacher was a complete stranger at that point, but Els doesn't care, she is going to charm you.
