Thursday Ellison had her Easter party at school. Unfortunately, she wasn't feeling 100%. She had the beginnings of a cold and was a little weepy and whiny. She waited for the party to start with her head on the table. Those that have ever been around Ellison know this is not her. She did manage a half smile, but I think that was more to get me to leave her alone than a reflection of her mood at that time. Somehow they ended up with an abundance of eggs and each kid brought home a good 20-24 eggs.

There's a BIG girl moving in
We are getting ready to transition Ellison to a big girl bed. Yes, I know she is 3 1/2 many others transition much sooner, but here's the thing if they aren't trying to climb out, WHY MOVE THEM? Ecspeically when they are well.....Ellison. Hadley has already warned me that if Els shows up in her bed she isn't going to be happy. I'm thinking go ahead and prepare to be unhappy chick, Red is a snuggle bug. So the color scheme in the room is going to stay the same. My Mom has made Els her own coordinating quilt. The baby bed and changing table will move on. The wall color will become a lime sherbert color and I have a dresser painted hot pink to put between their beds. I'll share the finished room over Spring Break, but wanted to snap a few before pictures too.

A hunting we will go
What do you do when it's raining inside and a bunch of little ones are suppose to hunt Easter Eggs? Create an obstacle course and let the kids run crazy inside I suppose. It's not the first time they have had to use this technique at Church.

Let's discover and party
Lillian's having a party. Are we going to Lillian's party? It's Lillian's birthday. I can't wait for Lillian's birthday. To say she was excited would be an understatement. These are just a few of the 20 some odd phrases I heard during the course of the week. Her party was at the Creative Discovery Museum, which we absolutely love.
I love this picture. You may be thinking, it's Ellison from behind carrying something?? What's so special about that? Well Ellison and her personality, that's what. You see, chick saw something that really interested her. Without hesitating or asking for help, she runs over grabs a stool and takes off to the "spot". This one is a problem solver. Once she got to her spot, she was in heaven.
Crazy sister in the shower, yep, she is W.E.I.R.D.
She discovered the spot, later....
Yep, still weird, just in a different spot this time.
Never met a camera she didn't like.
She got over the sand pit pretty quick when a little dude aka brat without a parent in sight, walked over and dumped a whole shovel full of sand on her head completely on purpose. I refrained from dumping one on his head, but I really wanted to. Yep, this mama is still bitter. It didn't hurt my feelings any when she declared she had to go to the bathroom.
Ellison, give me a pose....wow I haven't seen that one before!

A beautiful evening in the country
We were invited to a cookout in the country. The weather was perfect, the girls had a blast running around outside. Hadley had a friend stay the night and all three girls slept well that night.

Just a Rockin'
It isn't really clear, but I snapped this the other day, when I was picking Els up. She and another classmate were the only two left, they had their rockers just a rocking, completely in tune with the story. I hated to interrupt.

My gap tooth girl
Everyone, meet Bubba or Billy Bob. She pulled it at school on her own. Apparently, she lost it twice after she pulled it. Ms. Heather put it in the neatest little tooth container, that had a string through it to make it into a neckalce.

No rest for the weary
So what do you do, when you have the flu.....you cheer. She wasnt' running a fever and the doctor said she could, but I really wanted her to rest. Then Wayne called one of the coaches and was going to tell her we weren't going to be there, except she said the girls would have to forfeit if she wasn't able to make it. So Wayne took her, Els and I stayed home. In the event she was still contagious, we didn't want Ellison and I copped up in the car with McSickie
And your team wins first place...whoot, whoot!!!

The Flu Flew back
So before I left Nashville, headed home Thursday, I got a text from Wayne. Hads is running a fever and she can't stay at school. It is a little surprising because the weekend before she ran a ridiculously high fever 104.6, and Wayne took her to the doctor and said she had a sinus infection. Her fever broke the Tuesday before I left for Nashville, so we thought all was good. Wayne took her back to the doctor thought on Thursday and they tested her for the flu and she tested positive. So my apologies to all the parents that we unknowingly contaminated with the flu, we were told it was a sinus infection....doctors.
So the high of my fun girls trip can to an abrupt halt on Friday, when I got to stay home with the lovelies. Hadley was in lock down in the front room, which suited her just fine, because she didn't move off the couch unless I was throwing food in. Ellison was on lock down with me, YAY ME!!!!! This equalled a long day.
After two days in the house with both of them, Wayne decided Els needed some fresh air Saturday night and took her out to a friends surprise birthday celebration. Our "STAR" sporting the duck face.....again....Peace!

Dead or Alive on a Bed of Roses
So one of the things on my bucket list has been to see Bon Jovi. I know it's not all adventurous or anything, but it is something I have always wanted to do. Let's face it he isn't getting any younger, and neither am I (apparently no one is too old for Bon Jovi). So on his most recent tour, he was going to be in Nashville. On a lark, I texted Stacia to see if she liked him and if she would be interested in going....so she totally was. I took off a Wednesday afternoon and Thursday from work. I drove up to Nashville Wednesday at lunch, we went out to eat at Cheesecake Factory, then went to the concert. He was amazing. No one opened for them and he sang for 3 solid hours, crazy. What is even crazier is the lady two seats down from me, literally knitting a scarf before the concert started. She did put her scarf away in her large craft bag, once he started, but I was amused nonetheless.
Added bonus Thursday Stacia and I got to catch up, since we don't get to see each other nearly enough. So much fun!!!!

Embracing your freakishly overprotective side
I still can't say I love the trampoline....I think they are kind of dangerous, I mean broken bones kind of dangerous, which I guess kids bounce back from. I've been trying to embrace it, even joining in with the kiddos. I may or may not take a lot of the fun out of it, making them take turns when they start doing different stuff, but I'm trying. The other thing that I kind of didn't realize is what a great behavior modifier it would be. If you take a good nap, we will go jump on the trampoline when you get up. If you eat all your dinner we will go jump on the trampoline later. Hello, bribery...parenting's best friend.
