Backseat 'tude

I have exactly one more year of this in my back seat on my morning drive to work.  This will be her last year of daycare school.  She starts the Bud next year and will join Wayne's morning commute.  Although, I will enjoy the quiet because lawd have mercy can she talk your ears off, I will totally miss this.  I won't miss Taylor Swift, WE ARE NEVER GETTING BACK TOGETHER.  There are times I tell her I don't have my phone so I don't have to hear it.

Wild woman

I think I have a bona fide collection going.  I am totally going to make a book of this girls crazy sleeping positions.  What is funny to me is she is my calm sleeper.  Snuggling up in bed with her is bliss.  Snuggling up with Hadley may involve blood or brusing.  This picture is totally deceiving.

Goofy Glasses and all

We needed a break.  It wasn't planned, but we totally snuck away for a quick dinner and Iron Man 3.  The girls were pumped as usual, because they got their Holts'.  Win Win for both of us.

Walking the Red Carpet

The end of the school year always brings out the crazy.  Or at least I feel crazy as I run around like a chicken with my head cut off.  The girls had their Awana Awards night this past Sunday and we had a theme.  A very cute theme, which I hope we can grow in coming years, Walk the Red Carpet.  The thought was to make it a very special night, since the kids had accomplished so much this year.  I had thought we might put on our Sunday best, but the Curly Haired Diva had other things in mind.  Apparently when they said wear your finest, she was blind to the fact that she had grown "slightly" since she wore this dress two summers ago.  Not only was it a little too short, pretty sure she got her first taste of what happens when you have to suck it in to zip it up.  Not so comfortable after two or three hours.

Wayne suggested I put Ellison in her matching dress.  Umm, she was 1 and she has grown more than slightly since that summer.  Here's your sign..  We opted for sequins and she wore them so well.  I see this picture below and she looks like she is 13 with the make up and hip stuck out.  Oh me.

Of course we had to rock the duck face, it's a given.

Duck face with Sis and our friends.  Crazy eyes!!!  I love how serious Libby is with her peace sign.

They were suppose to sing and she tried to a couple of times, until she heard how loud her voice was in the microphone and that kind of freaked her out and she shut up.  Hmmm might need to invest in a real microphone for home.  Wonder how long that trick would work?  Probably .2 seconds.

Okay so the hat has come off.....

we are seriously bored and the attention is not on us....

what is she looking at?  where did the hat go?  Yeah she threw it grinned her dimple grin and me and then looked at it on the floor.

we are so mad because we have to sit next to the hat and she got scolded.  Pitiful.

Hads last year as a Spark.

Checking out her awards with Gracie Mae.

We say goodbye to another school year

I am starting to tear up thinking about it, but this little lady only  has one more year of "school" before she heads off to PreK.  She asks every day when she gets to go to the Bud.  She is so ready, I'm afraid this is going to be one long year.  She had her end of the year program and she was front and center.  She didn't cry....she didn't sing either.  At first we are surveying the crowd, yep not gonna happen people.

Okay, fine Mom I'll get them out of my mouth, but I'm still not gonna sing.

Hmmm Mom this manicure held up pretty well, liking the silver glitter nail polish.

Okay fine, I'll sing on this last one.

Jesus Loves Me This I know.

Honor Roller!!!

She is on a roll and it is the honor roll.  Bless it, I asked her tonight if she was ready for summer only 3 days of school left and she said NO.  She was going to miss it and her friends.  We are going to have to find some type of year round school to make her up.  Crazy kid.  Love her!!!!

Pictures Props

She really didn't want them to leave, but I wasn't really feeling 60's Floridan.  We reached a more costly compromise.  We paid for them all to go, except one and we paid extra for him to stay.  Yay!  I always wanted a pink flamingo in my yard.  The thing is he is probably staying for awhile, because well she kind of loves him.  She asks about him alot and now we are taking pictures next to him.

A flocking

So we got flocked by our youth group.  Imagine pulling in your drive and your lawn has been revamped with a 60's Floridan vibe.  Awesome.  As soon as Ellison saw them she was so excited.  She said, "Mom who brought me penguins?"  Once out of the car, she was all over them.

The object of being flocked is you have to pay to have them removed and if you pay extra you can pick their next destination.  The problem is Ellison fell in love.

Hot wheels

We have had some unusually cool weather for May.  Mother's day was absolutely beautiful, perfect weather.  When I get home from Alabama, we loaded the bike and the scooter and headed to the park.  We thought Els could use the practice on her bike.  She hasn't really ridden it since she got it.  Girl absolutely took off, like crazy fast pedaling, never looked back and never complained one time about it being hard or being tired.  She rocked it.

I see your No and raise you

Ellison's daycare called recently. One of Ellison's friends didn't make it to the bathroom and had to change clothes. Ellison thought it was time for a wardrobe change, but they told her she didn't need one....she got upset....she stood there looked them square in the eyes and......can you guess what the Red Head did next as if on command????

Yep, she sure did require a wardrobe change.  I have to applaud her problem solving skills, method questionable, problem solving skills stellar!!!!

Take me out to the ballfield

And this is my lunch date.  Their field trip was to the Rome Braves Game.  Several of the girls declared it the best day ever.  Which I'm pretty sure translated to them, we are out of class and free.  I  knew Hadley had no clue what was going on when she declared, "look the score is 300 to 101."  It is a sad day, when this Mama is trying to explain the scoring of baseball.  Bless her she just nodded and looked at me like she would be rather be watching a movie.  I texted Wayne and told him to begin working on the Red Head, I'm pretty sure there is no hope this one will ever be his sports buddy.

Breakfast date

I had breakfast with this cutie two Thursday's ago.  Her sister had a field trip and I was going.  I didn't have to be at the ball field until 10, so I thought Els could have the morning and Hads could have the afternoon.  She picked....drum roll.....Chick filA.  She loves this place and I'm a little unclear as to why, because she isn't a big meat eater and she may or may not eat the nuggets, just depends on her mood.  I asked her for a picture and she is telling me to wait.

I'm ready for my close up now.

Mama's girl, I sure do love this little red head.

Got Technology...will entertain myself

After she had her teeth pulled and she never napped, she had a rough day....insert heavy sarcasim.  By the afternoon, she was back to her normal self, watching TV while on the computer.  I was watching a show on the iPad, so she had taken over my TV.  I look up from the iPad during a commercial break and I see this.  To those that don't see Wayne on a nightly basis, this is lost on them.  However, let me tell you she is doing a perfect interpretation of her Daddy right her.  Every night, playing Candy Crush, watching TV, feet up.

Shortly thereafter, the TV went out and it didn't take her long to do this.  That's right, she went and got the girls' iPad, put her buds in and began watching the Disney channel while playing a game.  Do you know what we use to do when the power went out or the TV went out....NOTHING!!!!!  Kids today.  Wow!!!!

Before and After

Hads has a jacked up mess going on in her mouth.  Chick has many hours in a dentist chair in her future.  She has been seeing an orthodontist for the last year and he has been watching.  He was finally ready to pull the trigger, and we needed 6 teeth pulled.  Xrays showed permanent teeth ready to come in and no where to go.  He is hoping to make some room and not have as much to move.  The road is still going to be        L     O      N       G!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A NOTE AFTER

THE GAPPED UP AFTER

What will these goodies bring?

Well Chocolate...6 teeth = 6 chocolate bars

She did really well during the procedure. There may have been some excessive crying with no tears once she realized they had pulled teeth, but she stayed still and let them work.  I'm a little concerned with her high tolerance to pain medicine.  The perscribed a Valium an hour before the procedure to relax her....it had little effect.  So once they got her numbed up and realized, she was still a little too aware of what was going on, she got the Tylenol with Lortab in it.  Chick never napped and was fully lucid all day.  A.M.A.Z.I.N.G......

12 years baby!!!!!!

WHOOT WHOOT!!!  12 years on April 28th!!!!

That called for a date night.  Ecspecially after the month of April just about kicked my tail.  I picked a completely random new place to eat, which was off the beaten path and kind of interesting, Moore's Market.  Then we went to see the movie Home Run, which was SO GOOD.

Love you BAY!!!!!

GIRL LOVES TO PARTY

So the same place that Hadley had her paint party....Ellison had a paint party the following weekend.  I was really curious to see how Ms. Heidi channeled 3 year olds with the precision of painting a canvas.  Let me just say a paint party with The Independent Red Headed isn't nearly as relaxing as a paint part with an OCD Curly Haired Diva.  She did good....really good, but.....  She did not want my help with A.N.Y.T.H.I.N.G.  She didn't want me touching the paint, the canvas, the cloth...nothing.  I don't know that I have really talked about it on the blog, but she is really messy.  Like she can't do anything that she isn't completely covered in it or dirty.  She can be coloring with crayons and somehow she ends up with crayon marks all over her dress.  Markers are completely out of the question.  She eats and she is covered in her food.  So when she paints by herself....yep paint all over the place.

She has arrived

Yeah, this one has opinions on fashion and they might be a little out there.  Summer time and she insists on a scarf.  She rocked it.  When I picked her up that afternoon, I asked if she wore the scarf during the day and they said yes, she wore it off and on throughout the day.  Notice the straight hair too, totally her request.

Ellison "isms"

    • The other day driving down the road. I got my pen and check book out. When I stopped at the light, I was going to write her daycare check. From the back seat I hear, "Mom why do you have the Church's pen?" "Why did you take their pen?" How she saw it from where she was sitting I have no idea, how she knew it was the Church's, I don't know??? I got taken to task though, don't take other peoples pens.
    • Somehow Boo managed to scratch Ellison on her nose.  I'm still a little unclear on the logistics of how it happened, he doesn't have his front claws, he only has his back, so there is absolutely no telling what she was doing to him.  The next morning, she is admiring herself in the mirror and I hear, "Awww man.....I'm gonna have this scratch for like a week."  Lord help me for the teenage years....

An A.R.T.I.S.T. is born

An artist is born with anal tendancies.  I had an inkling my girl might be a little OCD, but never was it more clear than after this birthday party where they got to paint a canvas.  Chick was 100% in the lines and deliberate with every stroke.  She was the last one still painting in each section, it was really interesting to me to see just how seriously she took her work.  The end result was pretty impressive too.

I love my Laffy Taffy

....and the award for class clown goes to.....HADLEY HARPER.  So not shocking.  She had her End of Year Awards Banquet for Cheer and her superlative was class clown or The Laffy Taffy Award.  Yep, apple feel right under that tree Mr. Harper.

It should be noted Ellison is having serious laffy taffy envy at this moment.  Girl likes her some candy.
