An Animal World

The second day of our Disney adventure, we spent at the Animal Kingdom.  I would have to say the most magical place on earth became the hottest place on earth.  Oh my heavens!!!!  There aren't as many shady spots at Animal Kingdom and the lines, well you wait in the sun.  Thankfully, the lines weren't that long here either.  I think the longest we had to wait in line here was the safari ride and most of that was herding us through the line maze.  It went on forever.  Other than the heat, I think Animal Kingdom was one of my favorite parts and probably the girls too.  This is where they got to meet the characters and see the Birds of Paradise show, which was awesome.

The Tree of Life!

Meeting Minnie.  This was one Ellison Ann was looking so forword to.  After her meeting with Daisy, we just knew she was going to rock it out and wow them.  Umm notice, I began making an apperance in these pictures....she wouldn't let them touch her.  Like I said, this girl is going to throw us curve balls the rest of her life.

He was pretending she was hurting in his feelings because she wouldn't give him 5!   It didn't phase her at all!

The most Magical place on Earth

We stayed one night in Floral City and the next morning we got up really early and headed to the Land of the Mouse.  The girls had no idea where we were going and Hadley was none to happy about that.  She kept saying, "please, PLEASE, please....." over and over.  Not a big fan of the surprise that one!  The primary reason for the surprise is Ellison would have driven us insane.  She is the kid that squeals with delight over everything constantly.  If we tell her we are going to Church to far in advance, she will ask 500 times when you are leaving.  Her level of excitement and questions, would have been too much to bear in the months leading up to Disney ;)  About 20 minutes from the Park, the signs announcing the park were becoming rather loud and frequent, so we busted out the video camera and filmed telling them where we were going.  Ellison immediately busted into her best version of the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse song, precious!

This is Ellison when she was on the boat going over to the Park, she was so excited, she was in Hadley's face, just smiling and kissing on her.

This is the girls with John, he is a friend of my Mom and Uncle.  He let us in and showed us around, so thankful to him for the experience.

My Mom made the girls their shirts and one of her friends made them matching hair bows.  They were so cute!!!

This was our first line at Disney, thankfully the longest we had to wait in any line was about 20 minutes, which was crazy considering it was the weekend before the 4th.  I had heard all the stories and I was pretty nervous!  This was also the line to the Merry go Round which Hadley declared her favorite part of the trip about half way through the day.  Which was a little upsetting considering we have a Merry go Round at a local mall and it is only 30 minutes away and 2 bucks!!!  Thankfully she found another favorite thing and it was unique to Disney, so I guess the trip was worth it!

It's a Small World.  This was on my must list and we did it super early.  The girls loved all the scenes and oooh'ed and ahhh'ed.  One of the reasons it was on my must list, is it is one of the few memories I have of my trip to Disney when I was Hadley's age.  However, the thing that stuck in my mind about the whole ride was the smell.  That damp musty wet smell.  I don't remember the music so much or the scenery, just the smell.  Funny, when we rode it this time, the smell wasn't that remarkable.  I wonder why it stuck in my mind so distinctly 30 years ago.  Wonder what will the girls remember?

The teacups!!!  I seriously thought Ellison was going to lose her breathe completely when Wayne started spinning it super fast!

As we walked past, we caught a show at the Castle.  We ended up with a pretty good spot for the dance number and it was totally accidental!

On the way out of the Park Saturday, Daisy and Pluto were signing autographs.  We were hot, tired and ready to go.  We agreed to let the girls get one autograph and Ellison picked Daisy.  I am so glad we waited.  What happened next was the most shocking event of the trip.  We had Hadley go first, because other than a short say 6 month period, the kid has never been scared of the people in costumes.  She marches right up and embraces them.  We thought if there is any chance Ellison will interact, she will have to see Hadley do it first.

I'm pretty sure she already had her mind made up on what she was going to do.  She marched up with a quiet confidence.  She hung back while Daisy signed her book.  I prayed for a graceful exit, the approach was really enough for me.  I mean this is the kid that is terrified of things in costumes.  When we are at Chick fil A and the cow comes up, her little thighs become legs of steel and you quite possibly could lose circulation to your mid section.

Then Daisy reached out for a hug and she stepped in and leaned.  She didn't hug her, but she allowed her to touch her.  I thought I was going to have to pick my self up off the scorching asphalt.  This kid is going to be throwing us curve balls for the rest of her life, pretty sure of it!!!!

We then went back to the resort, took long late naps and got up and got ready to go back.  We wanted to see the electric parade and fireworks, so we camped out and found our place along Main Street.  Can I just say there are some crazy people in this world?

This quickly became the highlight of Hadley's trip.  It was pretty awesome!  Ellison liked it too, however Wayne had made the mistake of telling her she would see Tinkerbell, which didn't happen until the fireworks, so all through the parade she kept asking for Tinkerbell.  It was kind of exhausting.

Watching the parade, looking for Tinkerbell.

Horsin' Around

Our Trip, our trip.  I have had these pictures uploaded for a while, but just haven't come back to type about our trip.  I'm so lazy.  No, I'm so crazy.  No, we run around like chickens with our heads chopped off and I forget what day of the week it is.  Seriously, what day is today, I just know it is a little after 8:30 and I am already thinking about going to bed.  Me wants the energy of my youth!!!  So the first leg of our trip was to Floral City.  My Uncle Abbott and Linda live there.  It was really a treat to get to see them.  We don't get to see them nearly enough.  The girls had a blast swimming, riding around in the golf cart and visiting them in the barn.  Uncle Abbott tried to get them on a horse, but they weren't having any of it.

Road TRIP

We recently went on a family vacation.  Before we departed, I got my Mom and Dad to snap a few group pictures.  There were two cameras so we were all looking in different directions, which confused Ellison and made Wayne ill because he didn't know where to look.  This was the best one, not sure what that says!

Only Child

BellBell took Hadley back to Alabama, so this meant that we got to spend some one on one time with the Red Head.  She doesn't get many opportunities to be the only child.  We took her swimming one day.  She isn't crazy about the water, so it was a chance for Wayne and I to double team her.  I think she kind of ate it up.  I expected her to ask constantly where Hadley was for two reasons.  One because she was with my Mom and she wanted to go with her and two because she is all about everything Hadley is doing.  Alas, that was not the case.  She asked one time all week where she was at and was completely satisfied with the answer.

Taking to the Stage

So the week that BellBell and MoMo came up to keep Hadley was also VBS.  This wasn't just any VBS, this was Hadley's stage debut.  The final night of VBS, there was a VBS play which wrapped up the whole week.  Hadley had one of the main speaking parts in the play.  She worked with the other actors for several months leading up to VBS and she totally rocked out!!!  When I asked her what she thought, all she could say is how much fun she had.  She absolutely loved it.

This little lady, loved the stage too.  Except she loved expressing herself through dance.  She really got down!

Spoiled Rotten

My Mom and my Aunt came up the third week of June to keep Hadley.  Wayne had classes in June and they came up to help us one week and then my Mom took her back to Alabama the 4th week of June.  The last day they were here with us, I told them they had to keep the Red Head.  You see each day, I took her to school and she knew her people were at Home.  You could tell it really bothered her and she knew she was missing out.  I think she had a blast, I think BellBell and MoMo were exhausted.  MoMo found a blueberry muffin recipe she wanted to try with the girls, from the pictures, I'm not sure if Hadley is going to be a cook or a baker, she doesn't look very enthusiastic.

An ambush in the Rainforest

My friend Stacia recently moved back closer to home.  By closer I mean 2 and a half hours, how close it that.  I like to be sneaky and I like to put together surprises!!!  I hatched a plan with her husband Scott for Hadley and I to drive up and surprise her.  Ultimately we ended up surprising him too, he got mixed up on the date, it really makes for a better story that way!!!!  We ended up ambushing her at the Rainforest Cafe, leaving her speechless.  We spent three days with her and the girls.  It was great just catching up, watching the girls play like it was something they did every weekend.  She showed Hadley how to catch lightning bugs, which was hilarious, because Hadley doesn't like bugs.  The girls got to go to a pizza place, where they got to make their own pizzas, which they declared the best they have ever had.  We got a treat of Gigi's cupcakes, oh my heavens, DIVINE!!!!!  We tied it all up with a trip to the playground, where the girls got to play and Stacia and I got to people watch and boy did we ever get an eye full!!

Looking forward to so many more visits!
