My Mom's Birthday is on May 28th or May 26th depending upon who you ask. We didn't know what to get her for her Birthday, so at the last minute we decided to drive down and surprise her. She had fallen asleep in her chair, we walked in and the dogs started barking, she opened her eyes and she was created by these cheesy little smiles. She said she would take that every year as her present.

It's a RELAY
The Plant I work with, had a Relay for Life team and our Division really got into it. It was so awesome to be a part of, it is such an amazing Event. Wayne and the girls came out and joined us for a little bit. Ellison kept Wayne on the move the entire time.

These boots
It has become clear to us, this girl likes the barn. She didn't really have any boots she could wear when she went and she has been going more frequently with her Daddy. So the other day, I let her pick out and order a pair of boots. She basically loved them all, but finally landed on a solid purple pair. Once we ordered them, she didn't understand why they weren't immediately in her room. When they finally arrived in the mail she was over the moon. She wanted to wear them constantly. Once she wore them to the barn, we told her she couldn't wear them around the house and that doesn't make her happy or stop her from trying to accessorize every outfit with them.
And this is how we watch TV.....I mean the most comfortable position right. I always try to sit like this too....oh wait, I haven't been that flexible in, ummm a lot of years!!

Amazing yellow
My little girlie girl, likes her some K*A*R*A*T*E!!! She recently tested out for her yellow belt and can't wait till summers is over and she gets to go back. I would never have thought that this would be something she would enjoy. I love that she surprises me, just when I think I know her she shows me some new aspect of her little self and I am amazed.

Days go by..
The end of a school year is kind of an emotional roller coaster. Whew, it is a little exhausting. You are so happy for your girl and all she was able to accomplish. How she pushes herself to do her best and gets really upset with herself over one little point. I mean 100 or 99, kind of like splitting hairs, but 99 isn't her best, in her mind. Then in the midst of all your happiness is this sadness, that the days are going too quickly, that you didn't take it all in, that you missed something, that your baby is becoming a strong capable young lady. Whew, HOT mess again, now just thinking about it, must stop.
Hadley's Awards Day was a few days before school let out. This one was little more special because someone's BellBell got to be her. She was here watching Ellison who had been sick and so she got to participate in some of the end of the year festivities.
Hadley was recognized for making the Honor Roll all year and her writing. My little lady.....

Field What??
What happened to Field Day? Do you remember Field Day when you were in school? I do. There were races. Lots of races, individual and relay. There was basketball and soccer and I'm sure there was other stuff. My memory is foggy, but I distinctly remember activities that involved competition and pushing your hardest.
Field Day looks remarkably different these days. There are inflatables and playing on the playground. There might have been some events that brought the class together as a team, but I didn't get to see those. I'm thinking it should be renamed to Play Day.
I wasn't able to make it to all of Hadley's Field Day. I had to work my normal first shift, then go in on 2nd and 3rd shift, so I was a wee bit tired. I did make it to the end and I got to see some excited kiddos.
Field Day may not be what I remember, but the kids had a blast playing.

You go girl
So I realized I never posted this story. Hadley loves to read, but she also loves to write. She writes crazy imaginative stories. Last year, at her end of the year awards she was recognized for a submission she had written. This year when it came time for the contest her Daddy tried to coach her along with her teacher. They asked her to submit a creative writing piece and to really think about she wanted to write. Well my girl for the better part of the year has been writing an informational paper on why she should have a German Shepard. So when it came time to create her submission, what do you think she did, listen to her Daddy....? Um no, she wrote an informational paper on dogs. To say her Daddy was less than thrilled would be an understatement. It was during my California trip when the writing and submitting phase of the contest occurred. It broke my heart, I couldn't be there to comfort her when her Daddy expressed his disappointment. She was so upset, but when her Daddy asked her why? She tried to explain that, it was what she wanted to write about. In my mind, she was standing up to those trying to kill her voice, kind of like a reporter writing a story for the New York Times and not letting their editor, sway their voice. Which I love!!!!
The funny part of the story, is she was selected as her Class Winner for her submission. You go girl!!!! Love you!

Hot bubbles
This little red head has had a rough go in the allergy department. For the last couple of weeks she has been battling her latest round and it has been one of her worst. Her antibiotic and steroid haven't been working. This morning she woke up and wanted her Daddy so I took her to him. Then a very short while later she appeared at my side, coughed a couple of times, started gagging and it was on. It is like she can do it on demand sometimes, so pitiful. I still haven't figured out why she came to me. That end is suppose to be her Daddy's deal. She got sick again after she tried to eat, so no Church for her and I again today. It was to the couch for the Mickey Mouse Marathon. I leaned over and fell asleep, and while I found her quietness unusual, I wasn't alarmed. Then she said she wanted to snuggle and when she climbed up on me, her body radiated crazy heat. She was running a 103.3 fever. Pitiful!!!!
We were going a little stir crazy by this afternoon, so we went and sat out under a tree and blew some bubbles. I didn't even bother to put clothes on her, redneckin'!!!!

My ladybugs
Taking pictures of the girls in their latest BellBell creations, caused us to almost get blown away. Windy is an understatement..
Hadley isn't looking in this one, but I love the way Els is looking at her sister. She looks at her this way often. Of course there are times when she is beating her up and pulling her hair, but I choose to only remember this look.
