Falling from Heaven

Today on my lunch break I prepared below post:
This morning as I was dropping Hadley off at school, she informed me that Abby (her pink & purple imaginary dog) had died. I asked her if maybe Abby was just away, in her best matter of fact voice she said, "no, Abby died and went to Heaven, she ran in the road with a car". I was so excited when Hadley created her imaginary dog, I too had an imaginary friend, but mine got in all sorts of trouble. I loved to hear Hadley's stories about things Abby had done or things she liked. It is amazing to me that children of that age can create such a "fantasy" world. It drove Wayne crazy, he didn't understand why he had to bring Abby in from outside or talk to her. It is a sad day for me in our house, my little girl is growing up and no longer needs this comfort. Or, maybe she is making room for a bigger and just as unique friend?

Flash forward to this afternoon when I pick Hadley up:
On our drive home this evening Hadley informs me that today when they were on the playground Abby came back, she fell down from Heaven.

Wonder what is in store for Abby next?

Happy Fall, Ya'll

What a beautiful day!!! Today we made our annual (Wayne doesn't know it is annual) trip to Burt's Pumpkin Farm. The weather was perfect.  Hadley had a blast, the boys I think were hot and ready for some football. Below are a few snaps:

Christmas anyone....??

Yes, I know I have skipped, Halloween and Thanksgiving, but these are just so darn cute. Each time I see them I want to put my tree up now, so I can hang these front and center. One of our Christmas traditions now that Hadley has come along is every year we have two ornaments made. One Hadley ornament and one family ornament.

This year's Hadley ornament is her hand turned into an adorable elf (and the jingle ball is her thumb print). Check out the curls, how realistic!!!!

This year's family ornament, is each of our thumbprints (check out the glasses on the Wayne elf and again the curls on Hadley and I).

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE these ornaments, thank you so much Wendy you totally rock, you are so talented!!!!

The Harper's are ready for Christmas 2008.

Sweet Pink Sheep

Well, it's Thursday, Show N Tell day. Show N Tell so far has been exhausting. Today's theme was Farm Day, the kids were to dress as a farm animal or farmer. Yesterday I am in Walmart trying to put something together, when I came across this hat. Perfect it met all my criteria: quick (I didn't have to do anything) and inexpensive ($5.00), sold to the woman in a mad dash. I was in such a hurry I didn't stop to question why the sheep was pink. Today when Hadley got to school, she was met by Macey the Spotted Cow and Coley the Brown Horse, adorable. I think Hadley was pretty cute too, but she had to explain she wasn't a pig. She was pitiful when the kids mistook her for a little oinker. Oh well, I will rock when we get to drag things out from underneath the bed for Show N Tell, there is some pretty awesome stuff hidden under there.
