Ease away Sister

This weekend we had Hadley's Dance Recital. Her BellBell, Grannie Sue and Aunt Mary came to watch, which made for one delighted little girl. After seeing Hadley practice last week, we had serious doubts that she was going to do anything other than her own thing when she got out there. She did more than she did in practice, but the little kids are so funny, those little attention spans just don't last for more than a few seconds.

They did their ballet routine to the song Somewhere Out There. There was about 20 seconds when the first came out, that Hadley just stood there with her arms stretched out, she was in a daze. The little girl to her right touched her arm, like get it together sister. Hadley gave the little girl a look that made it clear, she did not appreciate being touched. Aunt Mary said she had clearly inherited the "Harper Glare". She did finally get it together and participate in the rest of the performance.

Next came their tap routine, which was done to Ease on Down the Road and they were dressed as little Dorothy's. Hadley seemed to get into this routine a little more. I liked that for this routine they had one of their teachers dressed like a BIG Dorothy and out in front of them dancing. It seemed to keep the girls a little more focused.

Time for the FINALE, look what my Daddy got me!!

The Princess says Hello

Been a total blog slacker lately. We have so busy with T-Ball and Ballet and I've forgotten my camera at several of Hadley's activities and can't post without pictures. The princess says hello and to check back for pictures of Hadley's recital this weekend.

Double Zero

Sunday we had our Awana Awards Ceremony. Hadley completed her first book and was named the Cubbie who was their Drama Queen Ready for Center Stage. The girl sees me with the camera and she strikes this pose. Ummm yes, ready for the stage.
Tonight Hadley had her first real T ball game, she does good at bat, but is totally bored in the outfield. (Notice her booboo from this weekend, concrete burn is not a pretty thing.)
Wow this glove is yummy!!!!
Come right here ball, right here in this glove!!!!

LOVE this picture, so intense..

Put me in coach

Notice the numbers, these were always Wayne's numbers.

Her Royal Gracelessness

Saturday we went out to blow bubbles and pull weeds. I walk down the stairs and over to the boot box and all of a sudden I hear a ca thunk, whaaaaaaa! I turn around and my baby makes her final roll down the last stair and has her head twisted up under her. Thankfully she wasn't hurt badly, but in the commotion her Gracelessness flung her boot a good 5 feet away, she literally lost her footing. She has a little concrete burn on her head and continues to tell us how much it hurts, but other than that she is great.

I'm thinking the dance classes aren't working.

One hour and 45 minutes

Last night was Gordon County's Relay for Life. Unfortunately the event got rained out due to pretty severe storms. Wayne was supposed to walk last night and we attempted to go visit him, but the chain of events to get there made our attempt to get there, seem more like a relay to me.
  • Drive 25 minutes across town (check).
  • Sit in traffic for 25 minutes (people in charge of parking didn't know how to direct traffic) (check).
  • Walk up to The Bud's booth to see Wayne, and Hadley and I both are standing in an ant bed (check).
  • Visit with Wayne for 15-20 minutes and promise Hadley she can ride an Ox when he gets done eating (check).
  • Wayne and Hadley fight over a chicken wing (check).
  • Lighting in the distance, everyone told to seek shelter in the barn (check).
  • Hadley and I streak to the car (check).
  • One not so happy girl because she didn't get to ride an Ox (check).
  • Sit in traffic for 10 minutes (check).
  • Drive 25 minutes back across town (check).
  • Exhausted (check).
Wayne returned home about two hours after we did and they had called the event. He was quite bummed, he had planned to make a night of it and was going to stay until 7 the next morning!!!!

To those of you who supported Wayne in Relay for Life, THANK YOU!!!!!! You rock!!
