Hads family

Hadley brought this family portrait home today from school. I'm not sure why I'm soo much taller than everyone else or why Wayne's hair looks like he is growing twigs but I love that Ellison has a shock of red hair.

Today at school Hadley's teacher brought her to Wayne's room at the end of the day. Considering the trouble we have had out of her lately, he thought they were going to be taking a trip to the office for another paddling. But that was not the case, seems Hads wanted to show off her reading skills, she read the book Dad, Pat and Sam. She loves words, hoping her love for reading continues.

Destined

From the looks

of these pictures

you couldn't tell

that this little darling

is probably destined

for tubes in her ears

We have been home today with another ear infection. Saturday and Sunday this dimpled darling just wasn't herself and by Sunday her daddy said we were going to have to quit bragging on her if she kept fussing. After two restless pretty sleepless nights we went to the doctor this AM to learn we have one ear infection and one ear with fluid on it. However, we haven't had enough ear infections in synchronicity to warrant a referral to an ENT. I'm not sure how many ear infections you have to have in a 2 month period, but I'm pretty sure three double infections are getting close!!! Tubes did a world of good for her sister and I'm sure we will be there before the end of the year.

Stone Mountain

Yesterday we went to Stone Mountain Park with our church. It was a beautiful day, but I was a little unsure about going. We were leaving at 7:30 in the morning and wouldn't be home until around 11:00 that night. I had visions of a horribly stressful day with a 5 month old outside, away from home. Plus someone has been walking a very fine line with her behavior lately and I wasn't sure she really deserved to go.

But go we did and we had a great day. El's made only one peep during the whole day and that lasted for a minute at best around 6:00 after she hadn't really had a nap all day. Hads behaved as best she could with no major incidents and it couldn't have been a better trip.

There was an obstacle course with a zip line, which Hads did again,

and again,

and again, and again, and again, and again,

and again, you get the idea!!!

El's practiced her dimpled grin for everyone to see.

We walked and enjoyed the beautiful day in a beautiful place.

We played putt putt as only The Harper's can.

We made memories.
We enjoyed these blue eyes under a beautiful blue sky

I AM

I AM 5 months old

  • I am the chillest baby on the planet.
  • I am now wearing Size 2 diapers.
  • I am filling out my 6 month clothes and can wear some 6-12 month clothes.
  • I am finally getting the hang of the pacifier, although I still like for someone to hold it for me. If you give me one of the soothie pacifier, I will stick my thumb in it and suck on my pacifier and on my thumb.
  • I am drinking 5 ounces every 3 hours and a 7 ounce bottle with cereal before bedtime. Everyone says I'm chubby, but I'm not, it's just good groceries.
  • I am going to begin trying cereal from a spoon this week, I'm not sure about that though.
  • I am sleeping from 8:30 pm to 6:00 am the next morning, but still swaddled in my swing. I keep hearing mommy and daddy say they are fixing to make me sleep in the crib and I'm not sure what that is about.
  • I am following any movement going on around me and am very curious.
  • I am beginning to recognize my own name and will look up when I hear it.
  • I am in love with my big sister, she can say anything to me and I will immediately start grinning and showing my dimples.
  • I am a morning baby. When I first wake up, food isn't the first thing on my mind, if someone is willing to talk to me, I love flashing my dimpled grin and talking back to them.
  • I am a jabbering drool box, that loves to put anything I can get my hands on in my mouth.
  • I am beginning to reach and grab stuff and pull it to me. My favorite thing to reach and grab is my bottle which I am trying to hold on my own now.
  • I am so LOVED!!!!!
