A Family Weekend

This weekend my Mom and Aunt came up to see the girls.  While they were here, I took Friday off work checked Hadley out of school early and we went and visited with some of our family.  It was an entertaining trip and the girls enjoyed it.  Els even traveled pretty well.  Then Saturday night Wayne and I got to have a date night and go out to dinner with some friends.

No end to the Laundry

Last night I was folding clothes in the hallway. I've gotten so lazy I can't even pick the pile up and carry them somewhere. I just pull them out on the floor and start folding. A certain little red head toddled up and offered her assistance, picking up a pile of her clothes. I told her to take them to her room. She did and returned to pick up another pile. Her sister's pile. I told her to take them to her room and she obliged. A little while later I went in their room, expecting to see a pile of clothes. They were gone. I asked her where the clothes were and she walked over to the dirty clothes basket and pointed. That's right, it's like I hadn't done laundry at all.

Polka dots and Stripes together

......oh the horror.  This was Els Sunday morning.  I was worried we might not get to wear this dress.  See it turned off warm last week, but alas we now have another cold spell and we will get to wear it at least once.  It's funny that she got her picture taken in this corner Sunday morning.  Because as I type this now, she is in timeout in this corner.  She and Hadley have been engaged in their first real war the last 30 minutes.  I have been doubled over in fits of laughter for most of it as has Ellison.  Hadley on the other hand has been in the fetal position screaming her head off.  You see, the red head has figured out how to turn off the TV.  You don't mess with Hadley and her TV, so when Hads would tell her no, Ellison would start laughing and keep doing it (For some reason Ellison always finds it funny when you tell her no.  I realize this does not bode well for discipline in the future).  I hoped Ellison would grow bored with the game, but she didn't and Hadley couldn't pull herself together, so I had to intervene.  Ellison thought I was joking, laughed at me and kept doing it.  She had to get a spanking, which really ticked her off and she marched herself to timeout.  It is really a sight, when she takes herself a little moment.

It is all in the details

The other night Hadley proudly brought me her lego creations.  She immediately told me she followed the directions.  I wasn't sure what she was talking about, so I asked her to bring me the directions.  What she brought me was the box  and she pointed to the pictures.  She had recreated the images, colors and all.  She was so proud of herself.  I was pretty proud of her too.  This girl is quite in tune with the details.
