Painting Memories

I’ve blogged before about our tradition of making Christmas ornaments each year.  It is one of my most favorite things.  The only thing I don’t like is we have to make them so early, to have them by Christmas; it is more of a Halloween tradition.  I cannot wait for the year, that I have a tree full of the girls’ individual ornaments and our family ornaments.  I mean I can wait, because when that happens the girls will be grown and that will be sad, but any who.  I think the tree will be super cool, decorated in our creations and memories.  Of course the tree will be guarded like Fort Knox and no one will be allowed to touch it, but other than that very cool and not stressful at all.

SIX FLAGS FAMILY DAY

So after a full Saturday at The Pumpkin Farm and the Special Olympics, we didn't slow down any Sunday.  It was off to SIX FLAGS!!!!  I'm not really an amusement park person but even I couldn't pass up the gift of free passes.  The girls on the other hand were all about it and Wayne and I like nothing more than surprising the girls.  Well we thought we were surprising them, Curls was apparently on to us, but thankfully didn't say anything until we were on the road.  Had she, we would have been driven crazy longer than the hour we were in the car.  Which Ellison used to drill us with the "Are we there yet routine"?  There were a variety of other questions too, I seriously have blocked them out.  The sheer amount of words that tumble out of her mouth in a minute is absolutely mind numbing.  I'm not sure what her future will hold, but if it isn't some type of Interrogation field, maybe CIA or FBI, she will have missed her calling.  I'm fairly certain she could break a perp in a matter of seconds!

When we first arrived out the Park, we had to get the lay of the land.  We aren't regulars, so weren't sure what to hit up first. Hadley declared she wanted to ride a roller coaster though, so off we went to find one she was tall enough to ride before she backed out.  She rode it and wasn't thrilled, but wasn't scared either.  I'm not sure it was what she expected.  Her first roller coaster was The Mind Bender!!!!

Lil' Bit wasn't tall enough, so she and I hung out in Gotham City and waited for our peeps.

After the roller coaster we headed over to the kiddie section and let the girls ride everything in that section.

We finished up in a couple other sections, it was a beautiful family day.  Wonderful memories!

See JOY

The weekend we went to the Pumpkin Farm, we had a very busy weekend planned.  We got home from the Pumpkin Farm, put The Red Head and Curls down for a nap and got rested up.  That evening we went to Dalton, where I was volunteering with the Special Olympics through Shaw.  Last year I volunteered also, but it didn't work order where Wayne could bring the girls up, the weather was a little cold.  This year though it worked out perfectly and it was an awesome evening.  I worked with a group giving out awards for the Softball event.  The energy was amazing.  You could not help but be inspired and more aware after an evening with these amazing athletes.  They find joy in things we take for granted everyday, I can not tell you the joy that those two hours with my family at this Event brought to myself.  I am so looking forward to another Event in a couple of weeks.  Anyone up for some BOWLING!!!!!!

Got Pumpkins???

It is that time of year again.  We made our annuat trek to the pumpkin farm.  This year was extra super fabulous.  You see I had two willing models.  It was super!!!!!  Glory days, Wayne and I weren't sniping at each other trying to stand on our head to get them both looking at the camera at the same time.  We got to the pumpkin farm when it opened, then went on a picnic.  After the picnic, we drove by the pumpkin farm and it was crazy town.  There were people everywhere.  It was like someone kicked an anthill.

My future Olympian

I have been going to a boot camp class three nights a week.  On one of those nights I take Ellison with me to stay in the nursery.  Little Mama gets to watch a friends baby while we are in class, so she thinks she is hot stuff.  The other night before class we were waiting for the nursery worker to get there and I took Ellison in the workout room.  Someone asked her if she wanted to hang from the rings and um well, she is Ellison so of course she did.  The thing is she didn't just hang from the rings, she pulled her weight up, head above the circles at least 5 times.  Girl is crazy strong, which I would agree with after the melt down screaming fit she threw on my last week.  I could not contain her.  It was like wrestling a slick pig.  In the end I am calling it a draw, a heavily weighted in her favor kind of draw, but a draw nonetheless.
