I AM ME

We have always said the Red Head would make it through life on her charm, she marches to her own beat while charming the pants off of everyone.  She knows how to work her dimples and she loves fiercely.  So I may have been a little bit giddy when this note came home from school.  Being an individual has always been difficult, but in this social media age where kids are growing up so much more quickly and being told exactly what they should be and how they should act, being placed into a cookie cutter mold, I couldn't have been more thrilled that this girl was recognized for being the INDIVIDUAL we know her to be.  I hope that she always stays true to herfself and doesn't change based on what society tells her she should be.

She even brought her own breakfast...hysterical.

We weren't sure she was going to go up there, she loves attention, but one on one attention, she doesn't like all eyes on her, so it was no surprise, she pretended to be a wallflower for a moment.

Umm...no one relized they mis spelled INDIVIDUALITY on the award....too funny.

She loves her some Chick fil A cow....sweety, I'll just stand way over here and zoom in as I take the picture....no cow for me thank you!!!

The snippet of what Ms. Hare wrote about her, when she was nominated.

Rainbows and Cats

IT'S HALLOWEEN.....my least favorite holiday ever....seriously I say it every year and they won't go for it, but I would love to just take them to Walmart, but them a couple bags of candy and be done with it.  They won't go for it, I don't understand!!!!!

This year has been all about the My Little Ponies for Els, so it was no surprise she wanted to be Rainbow Dash, her favorite My Little Pony...surprising to me though, that the costume was absolutely covered in glitter and rained glitter every time it was touched....uggg!!!!

Hadley's costume was kind of random, she wanted to be Catgirl...she has never shown any interest in superheros so her insistence on Catgirl was odd to say the least.

We went over to our friends Corey and Lindsay's again this year, and this is priceless.  Baby Drew was Dolly Parton, clearly she wasn't too happy about being the Queen of Country music, but how cute is she and her little padded bra!!!  OMG!!!!

Rainbow Dash passing out candy...it like a Holiday that speaks her love language, she couldn't be more thrilled!

Book Character Day

Instead of dressing up for Halloween, they have book character day at school.  Each grade picks a book and it gives the kids a variety of options to dress up.

Kindergarten chose a superhero book, Els was suppose to be Batgirl, we have a Batgirl costume so easy peasy, but the day before dress up day, she came home and informed me, no masks are allowed.  Ummm what superhero doesn't wear a mask??  Mama was a little miffed...it took me a couple hours of thinking before I came up with a superhero that doesn't wear a mask.  Red was pretty thrilled with the end result!!

I can't even tell you the name of the book Hadley's grade came up with, I had never heard of it, but Curls was intent on being a nerd...if ever there was one..she is it 24-7 :)

I got this text from Wayne, note the masks behind her...apparently the rules weren't very well enforced.  That's okay though, she had the most popular costume that day.

Three nerds..sweet friends.
