Christmas in the AIR

Normally, I put our Christmas decorations up the Saturday after Thanksgiving, but this year, we ended up with a free weekend the middle of Thanksgiving and I decided to seize the opportunity.  We started off with some morning snuggles.  I mean, snuggling with the red head is a pretty awesome way to wake up.

Helping me with the finishing touches.

After trimming the tree, I put them to work on their Christmas lists.  You know your child has first world problems when they tape multiple pieces of paper together for their list...I'm talking about you Hadley!!!!!!!

Let's eat

She regularly asks me to join her for lunch and I am so grateful for a job that I can work remote in the morning, drop in and eat with her and then head to the office.  It has become a routine at least twice a month and she is absolutely giddy each time she sees me walking down the hall.  Her sister asked, why I never came and ate with her and I had to remind her, she never invited me.  She would die if I went and ate with her at the middle school, so I will cherish this time with my Red Head, knowing it is fleeting.

Goodbyes

On November 4th, I got a call at work that Taz had passed away unexpectedly.  We had been boarding him at a facility outside of town and some dear friends moved him to a location on their farm, for his final resting spot.  Wayne took me out the next morning to visit, it was beautiful next to a creek.  To say he is missed is an understatement, he was a part of my life for 19 years and the last piece of a pretty amazing childhood experience.

My Basketball Princess

This little lady has declared basketball as her sport and she was so excited when her first pair of basketball shoes arrived.  Wayne gave me a hard time about them being pink, but Els loved them.

Basketball tryouts....I spy the red headed shorty with the crazy dribbling skills.

GO PHOENIX

Our first season of middle school cheer is in the books.  The recognition banquet consisted of calling all the cheerleaders onto the gym floor, lining them up and calling them one by one for their "participation certificate"....can you spot mine...HINT, she is the short one?  After they all got their participation awards, they gave out a few other awards....Hads, highest GPA on the cheer squad.  Not sure where she get it, but super proud of her school accomplishments.
