We Rocked Rock City

I wanted to get the girls out of the house on the break.  We had a few days before Christmas and were going to hit up Stone Mountain for their Teacher Days (discount), but then realized we could hit up Rock City for the same price and it was closer....ROCK CITY for the score!!!!  It was really cold, but it was really beautiful.  It ended up being even cheaper than expected, because while we were standing in line a kind lady walked up and handed us two kids tickets and told us to take them, they were going to go to waste....up tis the season, thank you kind lady....whomever you are!!!!

I think she wanted to try and convince the elf to tell Santa she had been good, not sure how much luck she had.

Bad Hair Days

Please forgive the completely unfortunate hair, but one morning on Christmas break I gave the girls an assignment in the kitchen.  We made this fun M&M Kiss Pretzels.  While we were at it, we made them.....not Christmas....but Auburn colors.  War Eagle Baby!!!!!

Not so artistic

So she really is the devil.  She came into the kitchen to a get a pencil.  I just assumed she was practicing her writing.......W.R.O.N.G....she was coloring with a P.E.N.C.I.L!!!!!!  She looked like she lived in a dumpster!!!!  AGHH I would say her activity level keeps me young, but that would be a big FAT lie....I am aging like nobody's business because of this one.

A shopping we will go

So I typically do all my shopping early.  Except one thing.  Last year Wayne took Hadley and I took Ellison the week before Christmas, we gave them $20 and let them pick out presents for their sister.  A sweet time for them to think about someone other than themselves and for Wayne and I to get one on one time with the girls.  This year we switched and Wayne took Els and I took Hads.  Right before we left, we had the girls sit down with the price range in mind and make a list of things they would like that weren't on their Santa list.  I think this is definitely a tradition we will continue, both girls seemed to really enjoy it.

The show must go on!!!

So I have to admit I was a little sad for this performance.  She has been singing these songs at the top of her lungs for the last month and knowing it would be her last Christmas program in preschool, which meant it would be my last as well, made me a little sad.  Her first set, she rocked, sang, danced, the whole nine yards.  Then when they paused to bring in the 2 year olds, she wanted to come down and hug me...I couldn't let her because well I would get in trouble, I'm sure it would cause chaos with all the kiddos.

So this is what happened in the second set, yep she wouldn't look at me, she wouldn't sing, nothing...she was really mad.

She finally turned around, but she wouldn't smile.

She then smiled...

...and then as it was ending I got the duck face and peace sign.

It was a great show, until I went to her room to tell her what a great job she did, get a hug and tell her bye.  She already had her jacket in her hand, she thought she was leaving.  Fail....this is her milking it with Ms. Christina....little stinker.
