Mounds of Wind

Hadley recently had her Reach Field Trip at the Etowah Indian Mounds.  I remember going to some Indian Mounds with my Dad and a friend when I was little and the only thing I remember about the trip was my friend got way ahead of my Dad at one point and was running and he kind of freaked out...there was a huge drop off.  So all that to say I was eager to revisit an Indian Mound and see if it brought back any other memories.  Well let me just say it was too freaking cold to bring back any other memories.  When I say cold, I mean my bones were cold literally aching....miserable.  I looked at the weather before we went, dress appropriately for mid 50 degree weather, lots of layers....but didn't account for wild slanting wind.  It was crazy....I took my infinity scarf off and fashioned it in a type of head covering to try and block the wind from Hadley's ears.

Straight drop off right behind her...I would have been fine if this was as close to the edge as she got....

See the wind whipping....

Unfortunately they got much closer to the edge in this picture....Mama's heart was a pumping.

After it was all said and done and I was back in my wind free card...I remembered I had a gift card, my sweet hubby had passed along to me and I warmed my bones with this deliciousness.
