I recently had the opportunity to participate in a leadership class for our County. It was an amazing experience that allowed me to view our little community in a whole new way and how my family could positively impact our area in a different way. I was able to meet an amazing group of people, I wouldn't have normally had the opportunity to meet and one of our final classes was a team building activity. I was on an awesome team that worked well together and communicated amazingly well. Our team sponsor said she was really impressed with how well we worked as a team and were probably the best team she had ever seen participate. She said we listened to each others input, took care of team members who were weaker in different areas and were competitive, but still willing to try different ideas to win.
Our final team building activity was the trust fall. Let's just say I wasn't scared, I was nervous, but I was kind of excited...it seemed new and different. I was elected to go first, because hello 4'11" easy start....it was fun, I squealed when I landed in their arms...it was a funny sensation to be falling backwards into nothingness and then be caught by safe hands instead of the ground. The next team member that went we dropped...poor Mitch, I don't know if we were over confident and just didn't create a base but he fell right through our arms and hit the ground. After that, Amanda was the only one that would go, she was caught. Our sponsor said we each didn't have to go, as long as we caught someone the same amount of times as we had team members. Do you see what is about to happen? I got elected to fall three more times....I squealed EACH.AND.EVERY.TIME!!!!
