How you CRUSIN'?

None of us had ever been on a cruise, so it sounded like a fun adventure for fall break.  We knew about a week before we left there was a hurricane brewing that could impact our cruise.  We knew the day before we left that one of our ports was being changed.  We knew the day we left that both of our ports were being changed, it was no longer the trip we were expecting.  We hadn't even left the house and we were off to a rocky start.  It was our neighborhood yard sale and word on the street was that there was no getting in our out once the yard sale started.  So the night before we parked our vehicle at the club house and then had Chris take us down the the club house on his golf cart.  We wanted to make sure we could get out of this neighborhood to partake in this epic adventure.  When we walked out out of the house that morning, Chris was waiting on us like this.

Wayne thought it would be a great idea to let the girls drink "The Pepper" out of glass bottles in my still new truck that they aren't typically allowed to eat or drink in.  Ellison spilled hers....SHOCKER!

Before we headed out on our cruise, we stopped at the farm, to visit with Uncle Rabbit, I mean he is on the way.  The girls were up bright and early the next morning, to head to the barn with him.  They are literally glowing in anticipation.

Maggie, the most patient girl ever.

There goes little Red.

We stayed one night at the farm and were then up bright and early headed to Port Canaveral.  We decided to partake in some silly selfies before boarding the ship.

Once you board the boat, you must Muster Drill....who knew....more silly selfies ensued, because getting that many people on deck to listen to instructions isn't a quick feat.

Night One dinner....my little pink cuties.  They were both less than thrilled about having to dress up for dinner.

They were a little more enthused once they saw their dining view.

After dinner silliness ensued.

After dinner we decided to check out a show.  It really didn't hold the girls attention, they were ready to move, but it was a nice experience.

The next morning we were in port in Freeport.  It wasn't one of our original destinations and well it was pretty unremarkable.  This picture is about it.  We could have taken a taxi to the beach, however when I am walking hand in hand with my precious kiddos and the "taxi" is literally a duck taped together mini van with the mini vans missing, I kind of thought better of it.  I mean I kind of love them and wanted to return to the states with them.  So we checked out the immediate port area and there wasn't much to it.  My girls did get to see the art of "the hustle" in motion.  The merchants know how to hustle to make a buck and support their family.

It was a quick trip at port, so once we were back on board the ship, we decided to let the girls check out the rock climbing wall.

Night number two, all dressed up and ready to go.

Silliness was a theme this trip...we had little to entertain us, so we got a little wacky.

Instead of a show on night number two after dinner, we decided to check out a movie poolside.  The girls thought this was pretty cool.  The pictures are pretty low quality....but my company was high quality.  It is worth mentioning that Wayne was taking off the unlimited ice cream during this time.

The next morning, we woke up as we were sailing into the Keys.  This wasn't an original destination, and while I was pumped to see it, the truth is one can drive/fly to the Keys....it's part of the States....so I might have hit it later in life a different way!

In port and already melting.....apparently there is one month in the Keys where the temp is moderate and we weren't anywhere close.  October is hotter than the face of the sun...I can't imagine what July is.

We walked the entire island of Key West and while it was beautiful and the favorite part of our trip, we literally melted....did I mention it was hot?

The trees were UH MAY ZING.  The favorite part of our visit was the The Little White House, we have no pictures, because they aren't allowed, but we all declared it to be our favorite part once we got back to the ship.

After The Little White House we visited the Butterfly Conservatory.  I think we would have all enjoyed it more if we hadn't just walked the length of the island and been so miserably hot.

Back on the ship and showered, we were so happy and so thrilled to not be HOT.

The next morning, we hit the rock wall bright and early.

The girls climbed the rock wall as long as their little legs would let them.  Since they didn't like the pool, it was salt water and burned, they didn't like the kids club because the workers were "mean".  They wouldn't let Els sit in Hads lap because no touching, even though they were sisters.

We kind of ran out of things to do....we got a bonus day at sea and since the girls can only climb the rock wall so long, they didn't like the pool or kids club, we were a little giddy for our final night of dinner.  We went ultra casual because we had planned on being home by now and were all just a little over it at this point.

Knowing we had to get up at 5AM the next morning, she wasn't happy that I was denying her nightly coffee with dessert.  Here she is giving me her best stank eye, which she has had years to perfect.  Unfortunately, all I did was laugh and snap her picture.  It did not have it's desired effect.

Yeah, when I laughed she got a little rude and that got her an attitude adjustment.

Our only family picture that isn't a selfie from the trip....because Mama is cheap and she wasn't buying those cruise ship photos.  Ellison made sure she put her own personal stamp on it.

We may be up at 5AM but we could not be more thrilled, to actually see land  Granted it isn't the Port we left out of and we will have to board a bus and shuttle 3 hours, but we are going home!!!!

Breakfast has been eaten and we are about to disembark.

LAND!!!!!

As soon as we got on the bus, this happened.

The best selfie of the trip.....we are in our vehicle and headed home.....hoping and praying we can find gas....because they have been under hurricane warnings and gas is a rare commodity.  Wayne parked our vehicle with an empty tank.....we may not make it home.
