LA has gone to the Dogs

We made the trip to LA for Thanksgiving.  There were lots of puppies for the girls to play with.  I think it satisfied their desire to have a dog, I haven't heard them ask for a little bit.  I'm missing one of the pups in these pictures, Ginger, but the girls were in heaven.

This is Katie, the rescue.  She is a sweet girl, I think she won over every one's heart.

This was Bailey, or company for the weekend, she loved to play fetch.

The girls making Bridget play cards, they made Bridget play lots of cards.  Ellison did Bridget's hair a lot too.  Poor Bridget.

It's getting hairy

She looks so much older with her hair straight.  She loves anything to do with hair.  She loves to have her hair done, she loves to do hair.  I love to see the creations she comes up with.

This ones hair is getting so long.  We are counting down until April, when we can cut it for Locks of Love.  The majority of the time, it is a frizzy mess.  She is going to look so different when we cut her hair off.

Mounds of Wind

Hadley recently had her Reach Field Trip at the Etowah Indian Mounds.  I remember going to some Indian Mounds with my Dad and a friend when I was little and the only thing I remember about the trip was my friend got way ahead of my Dad at one point and was running and he kind of freaked out...there was a huge drop off.  So all that to say I was eager to revisit an Indian Mound and see if it brought back any other memories.  Well let me just say it was too freaking cold to bring back any other memories.  When I say cold, I mean my bones were cold literally aching....miserable.  I looked at the weather before we went, dress appropriately for mid 50 degree weather, lots of layers....but didn't account for wild slanting wind.  It was crazy....I took my infinity scarf off and fashioned it in a type of head covering to try and block the wind from Hadley's ears.

Straight drop off right behind her...I would have been fine if this was as close to the edge as she got....

See the wind whipping....

Unfortunately they got much closer to the edge in this picture....Mama's heart was a pumping.

After it was all said and done and I was back in my wind free card...I remembered I had a gift card, my sweet hubby had passed along to me and I warmed my bones with this deliciousness.

The Birthday Girl

So we planned a little surprise for Reds birthday, rather than a party with lots of kiddos...we were going to take her to the American Girl Store and let her pick out a baby she wanted, eat at the café with her babies and just have a special day all about her.  I can not tell you how excited I was about taking her.  Going to the Walmart toy aisle with this little lady is an adventure, she gets SO excited, so I knew she would be over the top excited about this.  She was excited, but not over the top, I think she was more confused than anything, or it could be that the day just wasn't going as planned and she was feeling the effects.  The girls were a "little" energetic getting ready, so they may have been a few raised voices on my part, then when we went to pick up the cake, they didn't have our order (I ordered online), the corrected the problem super quick and had us just what we wanted within 10 minutes, but it put Wayne on edge and us behind my self imposed schedule.

Then when we got to the Store, I took the cake to the café and asked if they could hold it until our lunch time.  I was quickly informed they have a strict allergy policy and don't allow outside food.  That is all well and good, if it was anywhere on your café website or it had come up at anytime during the RESERVATION process....but it had not...I was now ill and Wayne was well...not happy.  We quickly made the decision we would not be eating at the café now and I had to force Wayne to let her pick out her doll.  He didn't want to give them one single cent.  It was either pick out a doll or she didn't have anything for her birthday!!!!!

She quickly made her way to Caroline, whom she had picked out online.

Then she changed her mind and wanted Julie.

Then she changed her mind and wanted Saige.

She ultimately went back to Caroline, who has the longest curliest most tangle mess of hair you have ever seen.

Caroline joined Bitty Baby and not pictured Ellison's looks like me American Girl (not pictured) Sara Beth for some good ol dress up time as soon as we got home.

We ended up going to Cheesecake Factory, which not only let us bring in outside food, but brought her a sundae with a candle in it.  Which worked perfect....because I forgot the candles too!!!!

UH MAY ZING!

So my Mom came up to watch the girls so Wayne and I could go the Auburn vs Georgia game.  When we initially got our tickets, we just hoped our team would kind of show up.  As the season progressed we realized it might be a really good game.  As the game progressed, we realized it was going to be UH MAY ZING!!!!!
