Time Capsule

Three things to remember about this week:
1. I have passed down OCD to my daughter.
2. The Ultimate BedTime Stall Queen figured out a new way to prolong her bed time....lock herself out of her room. This was made even better by the fact that Wayne couldn't pick the lock and he had to remove the door knob. Score for Hadley, chick attempted to vegitate in front of the TV and watch Wizards while her Daddy worked on the door. That would be a negative, she was forced to sit at his feet and watch all the trouble he had to go through.
3. Hadley informed us today that she must now wear gloves to Church and School all the time, because her hands are freezing like ice cubes. Here she is in all her gloved glory!!!

A Blessed Christmas

Each year we make Christmas cookies for Santa and it seems each year I am destined to mess it up. Note our pitiful little snowman, we had to engineer them this way. Like last year, I failed to get the correct type of cookie dough and it was too sticky to roll out and cut into shapes. Maybe by next year I will have upped my ability to cook and bake and I will make them from scratch (a girl can dream). Hadley honestly didn't care though; she had a great time decorating the snowmen, no matter how sad they were.

Each year, we let Hadley open one present on Christmas Eve. I pulled all her presents out from under the tree and she got to pick. She was very excited with her pick, the latest Miley CD.
We put our cookies out for Santa. Hadley made the one on the far left, mine is in the middle and the one on the right PawPaw made.
I think we had a visitor, he must not have liked my cookie with all the icing.
Hadley gets just what she asked for, books and a dollhouse. I expected her to be more excited, but I think she was in disbelief. The she starts pulling out all the furniture, holding on to it so it won't go somewhere, very cute.

Santa must know Hadley really well, this was in her stocking. I wish Santa could have found it in an XXL it would have been perfect for Hadley's daddy.
A glitter purse is sure to be a favorite.
Hadley's BellBell and PawPaw got her a kitchen for Christmas. After she opened it she wanted it put together immediately. Wayne was teasing her telling her she would have to take it back to her room, the box weighed at least 150 pounds. Below he is making her think she is holding the box up all by herself.
Below is Hadley's version of Heaven. She loves her new cafe/dollhouse. The only problem is she got a little spoiled with her PawPaw here. See PawPaw would sit back there and play with her and talk with her and now she thinks that whenever she is back there, someone must be back there with her.

Mess = Fun

BellBell and PawPaw have arrived and Hadley has been hard at work in the kitchen with her BellBell. Really, I guess they have been hard at work making a mess, there is flour all over the floor. We are gearing up for a Christmas Eve celebration. I am so excited, we have decided not to have the traditional turkey and dressing. We are having mom's most awesome cube steak and rice. I can't wait!!!!

Christmas Fun

Yesterday was Hadley's Christmas program at school, the kids were adorable. It is always fun to see what all the kids do.Their filters don't turn off just because there is a huge group of strange people, precious!! As soon as the kids come in and they find their parents in the audience they all start waving like mad people.
I won't post all the pictures here, but looking at the pictures, Hadley seems to be around a different group of kids in each one. Seems she used the program as an opportunity to mingle rather than sing. Notice the little arm across Grace's shoulder (bottom right), wonder who's kicked back hangin' out?
So last night we went over to Amanda and Darrell's for a Christmas get together. So much fun and good food. There are a few pictures below of the girls opening their presents. This will be Rachel's first year opening presents, it is so fun watching her try to figure it out and mother hen Hadley helping her out. But before those, I wanted to post what the Mounain Dew cake is suppose to look like. In my original post about it, I couldn't photograph it because I forgot to grease the pain. Isn't it fabulous, the most gorgeous thing I have ever seen!!! Yes, I'm a little excited over a cake, but you see I usually don't cook or bake. Also, the mushrooms pretty good and worth it, not so bummed it took me 30 minutes to find the cheese!!!
